Live Thread Updates: American Heritage at Cardinal Gibbons

Big time Broward rivalry matchup tonight. Two of the hottest teams in the state are set to do battle. Emotions are high and I expect a great game.

 

Touchdown Heritage. Very quick drive to start the half. Gibbons helped them out with a lot of stupid penalties on the drive.

14-0 with 11:07 left in the 3rd quarter.

 

Gibbons had a drive going but Palhegyi throws a costly interception. Heritage has all the momentum right now and this game is in danger of getting out of hand.

 

Gibbons defense steps up big time and gets a three and out. Now they need some help from the offense.

 

Gibbons offense steps up to the challenge. They march right down the field and Palhegyi finds an open man in the end zone. 14-7 Heritage with 6:19 left in the 3rd.

 

2 more false start penalties help Gibbons get off the field quickly again.

 

Jackson Marseilli goes up high and makes a beautiful catch in the end zone for Gibbons. 14-14 with under a minute to play in the 3rd.

 

Douglas Emeillian with a touchdown for Heritage right in front of Coach Stubbs. He was just too quick off the line for the defender. Heritage leads 21-14 with 7 minutes left to go.

 

Wooooooow. Antonio Spencer takes the kickoff all the way back. What a game. 21-21 with 6:41 to go.

 

Jacolby Spells with a great catch and run and he puts Heritage up 28-21 with 2:45 left to play. I have been very impressed with Heritage’s entire group of receivers today.

Oronde Gadsden has been very impressive for Heritage. He is a long receiver with speed and good hands. He also had the only touchdown on the night.
