Coral Gables, FL.- It’s done: L.J. Cason is a Miami Hurricane.
According to team socials, Cason has officially penned down his NLI, pledging commitment to the Hurricanes. L.J. verbally committed to Miami on July 21.
Coming off the bench last season at Michigan, the 6 foot 2 guard from Lakeland appeared in 28 games averaging 8.4PPG and 2 assists on 50% from the field before tearing his ACL on February 27th, sidelining him for the remainder of the Wolverines’ National Championship run.
Cason had announced his intention to enter the Transfer Portal on July 13, following the departure of HC Dusty May to the Dallas Mavericks.
It’s been confirmed by multiple sources that L.J. will be using a medical redshirt for the 2026-27 season, allowing the hometown star to continue his rehab while preserving another year of eligibility.
