This game was 100% on the oline. It seemed like there were dudes unblocked on every single play.

On the point of being able to take our best and beat the other team's best - how many teams in the top 25 would take Duke, Walford and our WR unit instead of their guys? Probably half? And yet, our offense lacks explosion, lacks consistency, lacks imagination, lacks cohesiveness. Our OL was terrible, and that is obviously going to hamper any game plan, but let's at least help those guys out and put the other team on their heels with the threat of attacking.

We basically ran two passing plays all game - WR screen and play action roll out. I'm not sure I recall one time on 1st down going with a straight drop back pass. It's inconceivable to me that we have such a hard time finding a way to get the ball to our very talented skill players in space. And like many have said, if we're going to go with the more talented QB instead of the game managing 5th year guy, we have to put him in a position to succeed. Getting in 3rd and long, limiting the playbook to basic plays, that is not going to cut it.

And after watching L'ville's QB and Texas A&M's qb, two first time starters (both were redshirted, but still first time starters) be given a chance to attack, with A&M doing so on the road against a "vaunted" SEC defense, it's pretty clear that some coaches are willing to let their young QBs attack and make plays. Unfortunately, we don't have a coaching staff that is willing to do so.

all of a sudden we need a new offensive coordinator , you fans make me sick , coley is a good coach , you guys are just dumb when it comes to recruit , you guys worry about size height and the hype coming out of high school , johnnie Dixon , treon harris , alin Edouard , you guys really let a lot of talent go especially those three I just named , watch them kill college football when they get their time .

Excellent post!

I like AG and the coaching staff in general up to this point and was always defending them, but this was a cluster-**** of coaching. Starting Kaya was a mistake. Too much pressure for a Frosh. I wanted him to do great, but after he was popped (Thanks O-line) in the first series he was scared and everyone knew it. So what do the coach's do, run run run. Not much success there (Thanks O-line). Why not pull Kaya and regroup with someone with more experience? I understand pulling him could have shaken his confidence, but not more so than that dumpster fire of a second half. Also, why go for it on 4th and 4 when you are down 11 and could kick a FG to make it reachable. Instead we run the same BS with the same BS results (Thanks O-line). Momentum, however little it might be, was greatly needed right then. Duke is in for a long year with that group. Kaya was awful, but he shouldn't have been in there anyway. OMG the defense was the best thing I can say about that game and they gave up 24. With what you saw last night, we could lose 11 games (Thanks O-line)

I was fine with Kaaya. Coley made a lot repeted calls for things it looks like this hid doesn't do well and forgot to call those that he had success in. The big difference between Kaaya and the staff-- Brad will watch the film, see his mistakes and try to correct them. Al, Mark, Coley and Co will watch the film and figure out why everything is the players' fault not spend one second finding their own flaws and even less time crrecting them. Kaaya will win NC for our next HC--and the sooner we get one, the sooner it happens.

The offensive play calling was downright horrible. It destined us to lose barring a major error by UL. Coley did a **** poor job and any repeat performances should be fireable offenses.

Wins
Florida A n M
Ark State
G-Tech
Cincy
UNC
Virginia
Pitt

Losses
UL
Neb
Duke
Va-tech
Duke

we finish 7-5

Pitt, NC and VA wont be sure wins. Did u see VA defense against UCLA? This staff always loses to an inferior opponent every year

I tried to remain optimistic, but in my heart I never had believed this staff could compete against the staffs from top teams. Golden is too philosophical. My dad used to call people like him Full of ****. Probably no one here believes we can against any of the top teams on our schedule. The recruiting defections coming, any top players considering us no longer will and worst of all, forget top notch DT coming to play for D'Nofrio. The stands will be empty too! We know this to be reality! The only thing that can save this program is a totally new staff! Greg Schiano and Butch Davis tired of talking ball and probably want to practice their craft.

Fans hoping for a change are going to be disappointed. This is a 6-7 win team. Many fans kept on w the excuses during the cloud of sanctions. This coaching staff has always been average. and now they're out of excuses. Golden cant afford to fire Coley cause of recruiting and he knows next year will be his last with another average season. The Miami admin needs to suck it up and dump Golden after season. many better options out there. Butch and Chud for example. the defense played well, but UL was w/o many playmakers from bowl game. this game woulda been worse if parker and bridge was playing. and what was with LBs covering WRs for multiple plays at the start? that's why I don't trust that the defense is much better. Its not the kids; its the coaching. they started a true FR and tied his hands for the entire game. so whats the point in starting him? Staff has failed to develop a QB. Olsen wouldn't been suspended if they thought he was better. The staff is looking to get canned if that's not the case. U don't suspend a starting QB for a big game. U do it for the game against FAMU. Jimmy wouldn't do that. And neither would FSU or UF. This schedule isn't easy. UNC, VA and Pitt are not easy wins. This team could struggle to reach 7 wins if they don't get better. And by they I mean the coaching. And I have little confidence they'll change. Miami admin needs to bite the bullet now n make changes after this 7 win season or next season cold be worse and they could lose out on the coach who could come there n bring real change.

Golden has to reevaluate staff, to many recruiting types not enough guys who can develop players.
Kehoe must go to an executive VP fund raiser. D'onfrio is over matched and should resign again the soft zone that can destroyed in the middle. Coley is not growing into an effective OC..... those flanker screens and running into an 8-9 man front wew.... need to rise and fall with Kayaa let er rip.
another thought we looked slow ..... UL looked "fast and played fast. we are not PSU of the south and thats what we look like. we are stuck with Al's contract and he still might be the guy but he needs effective coordinators. Wonder if D.Wanstadt would help the U & would Butch give us a couple of years as a DC to get back into the game......

In the last seven games Al Golden has coached. The team lost by at least 18 points give times.

- Stacy Coley is a prodigious talent but tonight I got that Lance Leggett vibe from him in this contest. He simply wasn't as tough as he needed to be at times and didn't finish off plays. Perhaps that opening shot he took from James Burgess Jr. played a role in that. But in his defense, while he had success last year on quick screens and the like, again, this Louisville defensive unit was crowding the line of scrimmage and really attacking and like the bowl game, Coley's was a non-factor. At one point he had three catches for all of 9 yards. Shouldn't his skill set be utilized for getting upfield and stretching the field?

Dead on here. Coley played like a lil ***** last night. He never looked like he wanted the ball at all.

I have been making excuses for Golden for the last three years. I've tried to see it from his point of view, tried to account for all of the negative factors that were put upon him. I have to say now though, the way he went silent and tried to bail for PSU told me all I need to know about his "loyalty".

The people talking about how soft and timid we are, are spot on. When we were clawing back in '98 and '99 there were several times that we **** the bed in games because of youthful mistakes, fatigue, etc, etc. But we were still tough and would still light people up. There was a feeling after Penn State '99 that we were close. I KNEW walking out of Doak Campbell that year that we would have the horses to win in 2000, the desire and toughness was never questioned then. It **** sure is now, and for that I blame the coaches 100%.

The man has got to go.

One of the biggest problems I see with Golden is he's not an X's & O's coach, and he's assembled a staff of guys who are at or below his level in terms of tactics.

We have a bunch of recruiters. How many legit teachers do we have?

Yep, that is the deal...recruiting selfies, camps, BBQs, marketing, communications, sound bytes, etc. All of it is great...but if it is clearly the primary ability of your staff...it never turns into ****.

Honestly, I'm not putting anything on the kids at this point. We have almost a 40 game sample size with this staff and it's blatantly obvious they can't coach. Period.

- Defensively, honestly, I thought this unit played fairly well. They created two turnovers inside the ten( which amounted to all of 3 points which is inexcusable) and until the end, kept UM in the game Like many others, I wish Mark D'onofrio would bring more pressures and allow what is a deep and talented secondary to play a bit more tight man coverage.

- I liked what I saw from Ufomba Kamalu, 'the Big Heurtelou' upfront, along with Chick and Tyriq McCord. Thought they did some disruptive things and were active. The real standout was Denzel Perryman on defense, for much of the night he played at an All-American level before getting worn down late in the 4th as the Ville marched down the field and put the nail in Miami's coffin. This is where the lack of linebacker depth really showed. It's clear, guys like Darrion Owens and Juwon Young need to see the field out of pure necessity to create some much-needed depth.

I guess I was trashed last night. I saw the same ****** defense that gives no team a chance to win

True. Asking Duke to run stretch plays into a fast aggressive 9 man front repeatedly and then asking a freshmans QB to only throw when the defense knows a throw is coming is absolutely on the corches.

Absolutely inexcusable. You're loaded with bad *** WRs and a couple nice TEs, yet you're lining up in power sets all night playing directly into the teeth of the defense.

Yup. Played into their strength while completely nullifying ours. Square peg to round hole.
