Al blades once again balling at the rivals camp[TWEET]873566912432795648[/TWEET]
Only db to shut down amon ra st. Brown one of the top 3 receivers in the country

Looks like he is going to be getting a Five Star in due time

Per Mike Farrell "... Al Blades had a really good morning in coverage and if he continues in the evening he could push for that fifth star... He went head-to-head against the nation’s top receiver in Amon-Ra St. Brown and won some of those reps. That really hasn’t been done before..."

Per Adam Gorney "... He dominated at times, looked great always and proved once again he’s one of the top corners in the country..."

Was about to post this. Nothing makes me happier than to finally see him get rave reviews like this. The thought of another Blades at Miami literally brings tears of joy to my eyes. This kid is special, and the first time he puts on that helmet is going to be a special moment for the entire Hurricanes family.

He's already gotten rave reviews before. Deion Sanders spoke highly of Blades after he went to "Prime 21" and the Deion Sanders DB Camp, Sanders personally gave him an invitation to the UA game. I think that's when Blades was a Sophomore too.

Rivals in particular hasn't given him these kinds a reviews lately though, so it's nice to see them gushing over him.

Give him that 5th star :)

Thanks Pete, by far the most reliable source for Canes recruiting

Sounds like Al Blades has been slept on, on this board.

Not true, they always been high on blades. They have him rated top 35 in the country

Chatfield just put the cleats on for Kool and had three straight reps at DE against a tackle and didn't win a rep. Might have been tired from playing LB during 7v7 session
This is why you don't ever question Coach Kool when it comes to why a DL doesn't have an offer.

I encourage the ones who did, go read his Coaching Bio & learn from your mistake.

Which makes no ****ing sense. At all.
I think that's purely because the recruiting drama is higher with the others. Whatever we're furthest from having is always the better option around these parts. If that's not the case, than people aren't paying attention. Blades is an elite prospect. Top national player. High ceiling.

Surtain has like 4 touchdowns at receiver in 1 and a half games

Best DB prospect in the state since Patrick Peterson

I'd take Campbell, Jobe, Frierson, Hall, and Ivey all over Surtain

Campbell and Jobe perhaps, but you're getting dangerously close to homer territory with the other two. And I love both prospects

LOL at Hall and Frierson being better then Surtain. Homer all the way.

Hall nice but Surtain is on another level.

Film doesn't indicate that

Yeah I def sense the trolls that claim that blades is some second tier prospect. In reality, he is miles ahead of a cat like surtain who looks as stiff as a vurgins woodie at least as a cb. Blades has the highest potential as a cb of anyone not named Ty Campbell. Honestly there is no need to take anymore dbs after blades and Campbell. The 6 we would have would be the best db class in the nation don't need to take a seventh.

Lol, you've lost your mind if you think Ivey has a better career than Surtain.

Let's let that play out. Ivey has the physical tools to be in the NFL some day. So does Surtain, obviously. The world is littered with physical freaks that didn't work out at the next level. I know Ivey's got the right stuff between the ears, wanting to cover a guy like Jeff Thomas in a 7on7 setting. That mentality combined with his physical traits goes a long way. I'd love to have both.

Yeah surtain doesn't have the hips to be an elite cb. Ivey and blades are much much smoother on film. Surtain looks like a far better wr prospect than shutdown cb.
