This signals to me that Enos/Manny are going all-in to be dominating on offense. Perry/Tate would have required this offense to be more conservative than I feel Enos/Manny wanted (due to their limitations) - the safe options, so to speak. I think this is a great sign. Now, they might simplify early on but with Williams, they can run the entire playbook.

I haven’t seen this mentioned but I’ve seen a lot of people posting about Manolo’s “mind tricks”. To me the biggest one came this past week. He proceeded to say this week was it. It was the biggest one in the comp and would mean more than any other week since Janauary. Jarren seemed , from all the reports, to be the one that rose to meet the pressure head on and play through it. The other 2 seemed to struggle. Maybe it was the added pressure, maybe it wasn’t. But I’m sure Manolo wanted to see how they’d react to it because pressure is what every UM QB should feel when given the keys, and only those that are able to welcome it will succeed.

Stefan isn’t this from the hurricanes website?

I’m not trying to be funny it seems like I read it twice or did you write this up?

Says a lot about him and I’m sure was a big factor in the decision, Tates already transferred once under pressure and clearly the “defeated look” person is Kosi... JW is the most moldable guy and if they’re all close I think going with the youngest makes a ton of sense.

I would argue if they were all “close” Williams wouldn’t have won out over the other two’s experience. I think coaches feel he is much better than the other two today and in the future.

Im curious as to who is/will be listed as the #2 QB.
It won't be Perry . Would make no sense to . Everyone said it was a Williams vs Tate battle the last few weeks . Kosi is too well Kosi ( makes bad decisions and not great at anything despite having a very strong arm and good feet. Also he makes dumb decisions off the field .

Two things I want to point out/

1. The value to William’s confidence in winning this co
Petition cannot be under valued. He KNEW he had the physical/athletic ability but the ah^t show last year really felt a blow to his confidence. I think we’ll see a new level of “swag” from JW going forward. Really excited for him

2. The guys coming in with him in 2018 already respected his talent and ability. Any player asked about Williams had nothing but good things to say. I really think this will help tremendously in his relationship with the o line. These guys are all a unit now. They can work on trust and timing and all the important connections that are necessary to make the offense work. There’s nothing but positives here.

You can put Williams, Tate or K'osi behind the center and it will make no real difference if the offensive line has not improved dramatically over last year's version.

I disagree Williams is great over the middle and short routes because he's accurate if he gets the ball out fast it actually helps the OL tremendously

if they blitz often that'll be a big mistake because one on ones with our WRs TEs and RBs is exactly what we want
Agree but with Williams startin his first game I would imagine they’ll be sending pressure to try and shake him early. Imagine Enos will have safety valves worked in to the game plan to get him comfortable.

at this point staff and fans should be pumping Jarrens head with "Sunshine" keep putting as much confidence in his head. Ppl don't understand how much of a difference confidence makes in sports.

Competition breeds greatness. I'm glad Manny has brought that back. I'm glad Jarren earned this, and clearly he was saying that in his IG post. I think this era will be different. The fact there hasn't been a true QB battle since, forever, shows why we've fallen on such hard times. Positions were just handed out, w/ predetermined results.

I'm rolling w/ Jarren. Tate, I feel, will still have a role here in some capacity as well.

Glad he said he can run. That was one of my concerns. Also I want to see how he goes through his reads. I see Enos getting him a couple of easy throws to get him going.
Also love how Manny will make sure he doesn’t get comfortable with true competition. Wonder who the backup will be.
