The NBA Summer League will concluded tonight after the Golden State Warriors take on the Memphis Grizzles. Three former Miami Hurricanes participated during the summer (Ernest Udeh (Cleveland Cavaliers), Malik Reneau (Orlando Magic), and Tre Donaldson (Miami Heat).
Each former Hurricane received a decent amount of minutes on the floor during Summer League play. The real eye-popper was guard Tre Donaldson, he showed the NBA world that he is ready to take the next step in his game. Donaldson played in four games, averaging a total of 16.3 points, 6.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds, while grabbing a steal per game. He was making plays on the defensive and offensive end of the floor, proving that he can contribute to the Heat this upcoming season.
Ernest Udeh filled the stat-sheet for the Cleveland Cavaliers averaging a total of 4.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game. He played a big role in the paint for the Cavaliers. His presence on defense with his ability to block shots and rebound are what makes him so scary in the paint.
Malik Reneau ended his NBA Summer league season on a high note, averaging a total of 9.5 points and 3.5 rebounds. He only played in two games for the Orlando Magic. Yesterday afternoon, Reneau was a difference maker for the Magic, totaling for 19 points and going 3-3 from behind the arc against the Boston Celtics.
