Gall Discusses Uncommitted Targets

One of Miami's most solid commitments this recruiting cycle has been Moeller High School (Oh.) Offensive Lineman Alex Gall. Gall was able to be on campus this weekend for Miami's monster recruiting weekend and gave his thoughts on the experience.

"It was really awesome. I got to meet and hang out with a lot of guys that I didn't know from before and it was really cool to meet their families. I loved meeting some of the recruits we hope to land in the coming weeks. Overall, it was just a really good visit to see the new facilities and what they will look like. We got to see the stadium, the locker room, and the equipment we'll be getting. I met a lot of the offensive linemen too so that was really good."

His parents were pleased with the experience as well.

"It was important to my parents because they got to spend a lot of time with the coaches. When we were hanging out with the guys, the parents were with the coaches and they were out together all night talking. They learned a lot of stuff they needed to know like how their son will be taken care of."

A big piece of news that came out over the weekend was the fact that Offensive Coordinator Jedd Fisch accepted the same position with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Gall spoke highly of the way Fisch handled the situation.

"We saw coach a little bit on Friday, but it wasn't long because I guess he was kind of making his decision, but he made a great choice. It was what was best for him and his family. He sat down with each table at breakfast Saturday morning and said, 'I want you guys to understand that I did take the job at Jacksonville, but it's not because I didn't want to be here. It's like getting drafted to the NFL and you're one of 32 coordinators so you want to take that position.' I wish him great success because he handled it in the best way possible."

Gall's roommate over the weekend was fellow commit Kevin Olsen.

"We were together a lot of the time and we just talked about his season up in New Jersey and what it's like up there. We were just talking about life and how we're both ready to get down there and build things up and get some championships under our belt."

The interior lineman was working hard on the uncommitted prospects all weekend long. Here is what he had to say about each of them.

On Alex Collins: "I didn't talk to him a ton because the coaches were all over him. Coach Richardson was with him and his mom 24/7. He's was the only running back there and the only one we're trying to get in this class. Ray Lewis III was also with him all the time. I talked to Collins a little bit and it seems like he's going to end up at Miami. He was wearing orange and green all weekend. I think he's just kind of going through the process. I don't want to put words in his mouth, but it does kind of feel like he's coming to Miami and I think he has a feel that he can be our guy next year with Duke."

On Keith Bryant: "He was hard to get a read on. He really tried to avoid the questions of where he was going. He's going through the process, taking his visits, but I'm not really sure what's gonna happen with him."

On Denver Kirkland: "He was probably the quietest kid there. I tried to get a little bit out him and talk to him and it seemed like he liked it. His parents really liked it from what I understand. It was either his dad or step-dad that knew a ton about the program. I feel like we have a good shot with him, but I'm not 100% with what he's going to do and like I said, he was hard to get information out of. He would be a big land and I feel like we have a legitimate chance with him."

On Jaynard Bostwick: "I know he met with a bunch of the coaches and he was figuring things out. He's obviously a great player and he was hanging around with Coach Jethro a lot."

It also wasn't a surprise to Gall that Ufomba Kamalu committed to the 'Canes this morning.

"I kinda got the read off of him the day before that he was on board and he obviously committed today. He's a good pickup for us, that's a big defensive end and coach said he ran a 4.5 back in the spring, which is unreal for someone that size."

Man I hope the Collins stuff is for real and he's not just trying to keep everyone off his back. Have not had a good feeling on Bryant, and still dont. Something about that situation makes me think he's just got it in his head that he wants to be somewhere else. As much as I hate to say it, I get the same vibe from 6. I can live with losing Bryant if we can land Bostwick and he quals. Getting the Nigerian Nightmare (just made that sh*t up) and a solid Frosh DT should be fine with the other guys we already have in the system and Porter coming back. 6 would hurt too, but we have some good LBs and Grace will be a nice pickup. Collins is the one that would really hurt, because we really need another quality back to carry the load with Duke.

The closer Signing Day is, the more I am trying to think Chief Keef is on his troll game...

Christian Okoye was known as the Nigerian nightmare when he played for the Kansas City Cheifs many years ago.
