Great write up, Roman. Especially agree on leaving points on the field - you accurately point to the Wiggins and homer drops - but I also point to the missed protection calls or lack of seeing the blitz on perry’s part as also being reasons for leaving points on the field. Hopefully Perry learns more awareness of blitzers bc right now he seems blind to it

The staff does this unique thing where once the QB makes the initial line call, they'll stare at the center awaiting the snap. The center then decides to snap on his preference and in essence varies the snap count. Issue I am seeing here is that when teams walk up late in the process, the protection calls are being missed and the QB is too busy staring at his center's *** to notice. Saw this several times this year.

As a team, I think we could do a better job on the blitz awareness TBH.

Roman how do you think the staff will attack Pitt this week?

DCs must love game planning for Richt. Easy week with extra family time.

I mean the man does not motion, change greatly from week to week, use any exotic looks and runs a hand full of plays. As much as the offense says it is about execution, the defense really in return needs to execute when they play a Richt led offense. So I know this is tongue and cheek, but more validity than you realize.

Have not really noticed Pitt TBH to comment. I will say without the tight end you will see less H back series plays and a heavy reliance on 2x2 and 3x1 sets. Now that Miami has found success again utilizing it's bubble screen I fully anticipate Pitt to challenge us like they did a year ago.

They will take the pre snap bubble look away, play majority man and keep safeties close to the box in order to disrupt the zone read option game. That has been a blue print that has given Miami a bit of trouble in the past once its RPO bubble game gets going.

Miami MUST win the one on one match ups this week and must convert a couple big plays down field. Pitt will give them to you. Last year Rosier missed MULTIPLE downfield shots

As always, great analysis @Roman Marciante! At least it was probably a little easier to stomach this week.
Wish I could say the same. I have no idea what he's talking about. I've been watching football for over half a century, been an avid fan of the Canes much longer than many of you have been alive. Still Roman's posts are full of jargon that mean nothing to me. While many of you have probably played the game in an organized way fairly recently, I have not. I played a little bit of organized football at the high school level over 50 years ago.

I wish there was some way Roman could explain his terminology so we could all understand his analyses. I'm sure I'm not alone, but I suspect others who are less sophisticated are afraid to say anything. (I'm sure I'll get negged for saying this.)

I can't get any of his videos to work using my phone Perhaps it is because I'm no longer active on Twitter and he embeds a lot of stuff from Twitter. Why not just post the videos directly on this board?

Hey bud sorry for the frustration i'm causing you. At any point you have a question or need something explained i'll do my best and have done this for numerous other posters.

Please realize that the purpose of this is to be a very x/o intrinsic series. It really is catered to that core of individuals who have asked for and appreciate the idiosyncrasies of the game.

I realize that might alienate some of the posters on this site who find it confusing. I'll continue to post in this manner however. It is what I was asked to contribute when I was brought on board.

But like I said, either ask any question in a thread or even reach out directly in a message like others have done and i'll explain anything you need.

As far as twitter, i am looking for other avenues to post the video clip. This is just the most simplistic avenue for me to accomplish at the moment. That might change in the future.

Hang on bud. No need to get overly frustrated. We will work through this.

Oh and one more point. I have made a conscious effort to really just give a synopsis at the end of each piece. It leaves out the x/o and goes to the know.

It's part opinion and part just overview of the game. Feel free to blow past all the confusing jargon and go to the summary.

It'll always start with "in closing." Hopefully that helps.

It's been over 45 years for me since I played any organized football @TheMatador! LOL

I have some basic knowledge of the intricacies of the game - X, Y, Z WR, 11, 12 personnel, etc. but I've learned more from @Roman Marciante and @Lance Roffers breakdowns than I ever thought I could.

The way in which they describe the play in football terms, then show the play on tape, and then the overview in layman's terms is absolutely incredible from my perspective. Additionally, the amount of time they must spend doing such shows extreme dedication and sacrifice.

Any of the CIS staff has always been very responsive to any questions I've had. I have no doubt they would be as responsive with questions you may have.

YEP- agree they will take away the short passes and force Kosi to beat them deep. Fortunately he can- unlike Malik. Would LOVE to see a fake bubble screen pump and a WR release for a long completion and maybe even a TD on the first play of the game. Yes I am dreaming but at one point that play will be open if they do want to take the screen away.

We tried the fake bubble screen once this year. It wasn't open. But from your lips to God's ears.
The way teams are down field on the jet sweep motion and crashing the bubble are PRIME for a BIG PLAY. Good call.

Awesome breakdown. I hope our young TEs are ok. However, when I went back and watched the game again, I almost laughed at the running lanes and passing lanes when we had 4 WRs in the game. I was like, ok this is what those Big 12 offenses look like. Hopefully Richt takes note of how much easier it is to run the ball with 4 WRs. Now throw in some motion and you can run all day out of the backside.

Look out Mark, you may have discovered a new offense!!!!
