Former Georgia QB believes Miami will go back to the National Championship

During a segment on the Mac & Murray College Football Show, former Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Aaron Murray said that the Miami Hurricanes are set to return to the national championship.

"I think Miami is my favorite to win the national championship this year," Murray stated.

He also noted that Mario Cristobal can produce high-level college quarterbacks into the NFL, leading him to believe that Darian Mensah will win the Heisman Trophy this season.

"I think Darian Mensah is gonna win the Heisman Trophy. He is so dang good, and he has so many weapons around him. I think he's gonna put crazy numbers up." Murray said.

National college football analyst Eric Mac Lain chimed in on the discussion, stating Mensah has a loaded wide receiver room and believes he will succeed at Miami under Shannon Dawson.

"The rise of his success from school to school to school, has gotten better because what’s around him has gotten better," he added. "This is an elite cast of monsters everywhere you look: at the wide receiver position, the offensive line, young and experienced but really good, the running back room is unbelievable. He just has to make the right play."

This past season, the Hurricanes lost four of their five starters in the trenches, which ranked among the top offensive lines in the country. However, Mario Cristobal did an incredible job reloading the group by picking up the No. 1 offensive tackle in the country, Jackson Cantwell. Eric Mac Lain has no worries about the line as he has full trust in offensive line coach Alex Mirabal and Mario Cristobal.

"[The offensive line] is something I will never, ever question. Mario Cristobal and Alex Mirabal are the two reasons," he added. "They evaluate like no other. They develop like no other. These guys are turning these dudes into monsters. Jackson Cantwell coming in, one of the highest recruited offensive lines and most looked at offensive linemen in college football. And if you can put Samson beside him, who has been there, done that and has played a ton, hasn't been necessarily a bona fide starter, but has a ton of starter reps, you put him beside him where a guy, he can lean on him, and he can help him, and he can tell him kind of what we're doing. That is where you start to separate. You have Ryan Rodriguez, Matthew McCoy, that have started in spurts and have played a ton, but now it's their turn to really be the guy.
