Five-Star OT Mark Matthews Down To Four Schools, Hurricanes Included

Four-star (Fort Lauderdale, FL) offensive tackle Mark Matthews is now down to four schools, as he released on his Twitter page on Saturday morning.

Matthew's is now down to a finalist of Texas A&M, Georgia, LSU, and of course, the Miami Hurricanes. The 6-foot-6, 300-pound offensive tackle who just recently visited Miami is projected to land with the Hurricanes according to 247Sports Crystal Balls.

The Hurricanes will have to fight off three SEC schools.

Along with Miami, Matthew's holds additional offers from the likes of 41 schools including Georgia, LSU, Miami, Texas A&M, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, among many other schools.

The interior offensive tackle is rated as a five-star prospect and currently ranks as the No. 3 overall player in the 2027 class, the No. 1 prospect in the state of Florida, and the No. 1 offensive tackle nationally.

With Cristobal and Mirabal continuing to stack the offensive line, Miami staying firmly in the mix for Matthew's is another sign the Hurricanes are casting a wide net in the 2027 class.

Yall be forgetting our OL struggled to run the ball in some games last season. I do not **** us running from the shotgun. Yes you have to or its predictable when throwing. But our OL and the RBs we have need to be going down hill. It was clear in the playoffs. The pistol or singleback needs to be a bigger part of our offense. Im not judging or blaming anyone after 1 game.

Especially A gap runs . That’s what I said . It’s not Stanford don’t have big strong kids too . Had all summer to prepare

Its the same thing we had last season. People forget they were running the same A gap plays that teams knew were coming with no intent on fooling anyone or misdirection or anything. Then they started switching it up and putting in the Pistol, then Fletcher looked like Prime Derrick Henry...literally. When they realized the season was about to be over. Its like we have amnesia. Lol

If our experienced OL was getting stuffed, why wouldn't our rebuilt OL?
