FINAL: Kyle Sets Career High 30-Points in Miami WBB Win Over Florida State
The Miami Hurricanes defeated rival Florida State, 89–73, on Sunday afternoon inside the Watsco Center. Ra Shaya Kyle led the Canes on both ends of the floor with a career-high 30 points and 10 rebounds, securing her twelfth double-double of the 2025-26 season.
Four additional Hurricanes finished in double figures, Amarachi Kimpson (17), Gal Raviv (13), Ahnay Adams (11), and Vittoria Blasigh (10). The Canes also distributed 22 assists while being held to just 11 turnovers and outrebounded the Seminoles 41–39.
The Seminoles posted the first five points of the contest before Kimpson hit a deep three to initiate Miami’s offense. Despite Miami shooting 43.8 percent from the field, compared to FSU’s 37.5, The Canes trailed for the entirety of the first period. After 10 minutes, Miami was at a one-point deficit heading into quarter two (19-18).
The Canes took its first lead of the contest early in the second quarter behind back-to-back baskets from Kyle. Florida State then briefly regained the advantage before Blasigh knocked down her first three of the game to tie it at 25–25. Kyle followed with a three-point play to push Miami ahead before the score was tied three more times late in the first half. At the end of the second, Miami held a thin 37–35 advantage.
Miami extended its lead early in the third quarter, but Florida State responded with an 8–3 run to keep the scoring margin close. Blasigh answered with a crucial three-pointer, and the margin remained within three until the final minute of the period. Miami had the final push of the period, closing the quarter on an 11–0 run to take a 66–56 advantage into the fourth. Kyle led UM’s highest scoring period of the game with nine of Miami’s 29 points, while Raviv followed posting seven.
Momentum remained with Miami in the final period as the Canes outscored Florida State 23–17 and held the Seminoles scoreless from beyond the arc. Miami pushed their advantage to a game-high 19 points at 85–66 with 3:53 remaining. The Canes also controlled the glass in the final 10 minutes, outrebounding FSU 14–9 to close out an 89–73 victory on their home court.
The Miami Hurricanes will now get on the road and travel to Chapel Hill. The Canes will tipoff against UNC on Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. The away contest will mark Miami’s third road game of the season and will be streamed on ACCNX.
