Had a decent game against a very good Washington OL... strength-wise held his own....very athletic....didn't see them run through his hole.... ran opposite direction or outside....I agree with OP he can benefit big-time from better coaching/ scheme....the announcer even said UCLA needs a better scheme against the run....correct me if I'm wrong...they were more of a read and react type D.....at the U Nnoruka will be much better once he learns how to shoot the gap....I can see why the staff went after this guy....he's a perfect fit for our attacking style D...

Totally different type of DT than Tito when he transferred here. I think Nnoruka has a higher ceiling and will probably make more big plays but he won't be the consistent force inside that Tito was. We're going to need Ford and Bethel to hold down the inside technique tackle spot because Nnoruka will probably be asked to do a lot of the same things they asked Roger McIntosh to do. Quick explosion off the ball and shoot gaps to disrupt the running game. He's really raw with his hands and shouldn't be asked to control blockers or eat double teams.

Here was my Tito article from last year. Tito ended up improving markedly as the season went on, as he went from a bit player to a starter at seasons end.

"After looking at a quarter each for these players, it’s clear to me they are not at all similar players. Norton is much bigger, at 310 pounds and is a player who is strong enough to hold his ground inside without being turned. Tito is a smaller player, at roughly 300 pounds, and he seems to be more of a penetrator type. He’s fairly quick, so you have to hope that some time with Coach Kul will clean up some of his technique issues and allow his game-IQ to improve, as he struggles to find the ball. Hopefully our strength program is better than Illinois’ as he needs to get a lot stronger. He also needs to improve his balance, as he is on the ground much more than I like to see from my DT’s.

Right now, Tito compares to Anthony Moten more than McIntosh or Norton. I’d say he’s an ok addition since he has some experience and is going to be stronger than most incoming freshmen, but I’d be surprised if he played more than a decent rotational role here."

I'm hoping Miller can take the next step or we may need to hit the portal again .. unfortunately I'm not sold on Ford at all....

Thanks Lance.

The lengthy detailed analysis you supply is unmatched and not available on TOSs. Please don’t dumb it down. This differentiate CIS from its competitors.

Great job.
Couldn't agree more. Please don't change a thing Lance. Be who you are. The details are what separate you from the rest. Thank you for giving us our money's worth!

I think we are all going to see what an excellent teacher and coach Simpson is. He's going to get the best out of these guys. Combine that with the new S&C program and I think we will see the development of guys like Ford, Miller, Bethel and Silvera as well.

the best replacement for Willis this year needs to be a competent offense and punt team

Hope so...cuz that Wisconsin game got me questioning some of those kids upside ability.... I just can't shake what saw out there...Nesta is the only DT I have 100% confidence in right now....Bethel should know what it takes to step up as a senior... especially playing beside Willis and McIntosh the past two years.... I understand Nnoruka is likely the wildcard to help give a few of our young players more time to develop.... hopefully, Simpson poshishes his game in time for UF....we need our pass rush to be on point....can't give that bum Franks time to hit us deep or it's going to open up eveyrhing else....the DT position has to play at a much higher level to win these types of games....
