Edouard Enjoys the Camp

Edouard Enjoys the Camp

Tito Benach
2014 Miami commit Alin Edouard was excited to go out and compete at the Al Golden football camp on Saturday as well as get the chance to work with offensive coordinator Coach Coley.

“Working with coach Coley today was great, those are the types of coaches you look for. He really coaches because he knows exactly how he wants everything to be right. If he is teaching you something and you get it wrong, he isn’t gonna leave that space until you get it right, which is what I like about him.”

Edouard really enjoyed throwing and working but also enjoyed talking with coach Coley.

“He told me not everything is about you arm, it’s really about your legs. That’s what I’m gonna work out in the offseason. He told me I did great and that he loved my release.”

The Hialeah quarterback’s performance was superior to everyone else’s there which landed him the Camp MVP honor.

“I was just going out there to do what I had to do. I actually competed in the fastest man on campus challenge and it was me in the final with Brandon Powell, and Juwon (Young) and he came in and beat us.”

Once the camp ended, the 6’1", 185 pound prospect got the chance to tour the campus and check out the locker room.

“The campus was very great. When you look at a school, you have to look at the atmosphere when you're coming in, you can’t just say I like this and thats it. I saw the campus and I was very impressed with what I saw.”

Following the visit, Edouard now rates his commitment level as normal.

“I’m at the normal level right now.”

Seems like Coach Coley is seeing the same thing as many of us: good release but funny foot work. I think DMoney mentioned this yesterday. So Young was the fastest at the camp? If so, wow.

What does normal mean? haha

I take it to mean neither weak nor strong. Also, that he's more confident where the staff stands with him.

But that's me putting words in his mouth, as "normal" really doesn't have much of a meaning in this context.

No, some 2015 kid was fastest at the camp. Peter or Tito reported it, I just can't remember who it was.

Here:

2015 ATH Jamel Dean got offered and won fastest man award.

I was talking to his coach and said that Jamel had told him before the day that he was going to win fastest man. Cool that he did.

Kid is a stud... 6'2" and had a couple picks in one-on-ones. Struggled early, but really picked it up later in the day

I'm not going to hate on a kid, and certainly not one committed to the Canes, but it's hard not to be down on Edouard's "normal" commitment. For his own future, and for that of the program, he needs to show some leadership and confidence in his decision-making. He's a QB. He can't clown or waffle like like some kids. Buy in Alin. Everyone on this board who has crowned Kaaya will certainly worship you if you work hard and beat him out. You guys can make each other better.

It seems like Alin's "committment" is much more of a reservatiion than actually being committed to UM. He's basically reserving a spot until he decides if UM is right for him. Maybe he's just 'playing the game' but it comes off like he's starving for attention.

Don't read too much into this. I took it as the opposite, meaning he's no longer a soft verbal, but committed like everyone else, which is what "normal" means, right? Either way, it will work itself out. Golden's not going to be stuck on signing day again.

Hard to pass judgment on the kid not knowing what's going on behind the scenes. Any prospect would show signs of uncertainty when his lead recruiter jumps ship, especially when the lead recruiter is the individual you typically place your most trust in. The fact Kaaya is on board now gives Edourd more time to weigh his options and develop his relationship with Coley. Can't blame him for taking the time to make sure he makes the right decision.

Thats so true, maybe we needed stop worrying about all of that and stop judging him , he's great , ill still like to have him commit to us

BennuBird what up Phi! Edouard is committed and says he is. Of course between now and signing day many other pimps will be in his and the other recruits ear. Golden and staff just have to fend them off. If Young out ran Edouard and Powell- Holy Cow!

Just think he ends up a WR. No matter where he goes or what he's told.

Disagree. I think he's a qb no matter what school he goes to. I don't really think he would make half as good of a receiver as qb

I don't think we would be recruiting him as a WR, too many other monsters on the board.
