@CanesNation26

Well well well. Cam Ward, Carson Beck, Darian Mensah. The results of Mario's QB search process seems......pretty good?

The fire is burning. Will you walk into it voluntarily (confess your sins) or need to be pushed in (be called out)?

We can move on if you just promise to not talk so much **** next portal cycle when we dont have a QB yet on your preferred timeline.

P.S.- please dont defend your actions. Just walk into the fire.

@PIPO oh and you too. There were many others that apply to this post, but congrats. You two are the ones I remembered.

So is this a 7pm thing I'm assuming? Do we get both today?

Does anyone have a grip on how the grad transfer thing now works? I know there is no more spring portal window, just the one we just had but I knew previously that grad transfers were treated differently, essentially I am driving at if it is possible for a player somewhere else to just graduate in the summer and enroll in Miami? I trust Mario and Mirable know what they have on the OL but I agree lots of questions without a lot of experience outside of Samson/McCoy

It can definitely happen. Keep your eyes open.

I actually think the talent is already in the room, and Miami is set up to have a top-five offensive line once again. In 2023, Miami fielded one of the best offensive lines in school history, and that unit included a true freshman in CiCi and a true sophomore in Coop. I see a very similar situation unfolding this year with Buchanan and Jackson stepping into key roles.

I also believe Sampson has the skill set to be a dominant left tackle, and he’s in the best possible situation to reach that ceiling. Mario and Mirabal are the best offensive line coaches in college football, they will develop these guys and have them ready.

As for the grad transfer piece, there are no transfer limitations for graduate students. If a player graduates in the spring, he can transfer to any school he chooses with no consequences.
I agree there is some talent in the room, just maybe a bit too inexperienced for my liking when we are clearly loading up for another run. You mention Coop being a true soph and helping out Cici who was a freak at RT. Now asking Jackson to be close to Cici is a tough ask, he obviously has the tools but Cici was an absolute alien. Tough ceiling.

As for Coop, my recollection was he was essentially a TF starter. Or at minimum started the last 1/2 of the season and played a lot. He was at least a seasoned true soph where Max hasnt really played at all this year. With those two I would have loved to have pulled an experience center, a la Matt Lee that can make coverage calls. Max and Jackson will benefit greatly from that IMO.

It is interesting that Beck has had more explosive play rate than Mensah did this year. One good thing is Mensah has shown he turns the ball over lesss though.

Here is Mensah in 2025 bs Beck in 24 and 25.

So we see from 24 to 25 Beck threw more explosives. And his successs rate inmproved. I think both those areas we can absolutely expect Mensah to take a big leap for us vs with Duke. But look at Becks Turnover rate from 24 to 25. That’s what our Oline and reliable targets and commitment to the run did. I feel very confident Mensah won’t have the complete collapse Turnivers like Beck had at times

The interesting thing is how far Monday’s production fell off when he moved up the level. So if we can get him to return to his rate success he had from 24 this offense will be elite…

Just look at 24 Mensah to 24 Ward…

So, if Darian Mensah was a 1980s WWF wrestler.......

I'm kidding......

But you can still answer the question
