Duke injury - Broken Ankle: Out for season

****, smfh. This injury makes last night even worse. There's no player on this team that bleeds more orange and green than number 8, so this ****** sucks. Wish ol Duke a full and speedy recovery.

Will duke be 100% for next season to help out baby Jesus?

should of been splitting the carries with crawford. they know duke can be injury prone. ****, why isn't maurice running the ball on that play. I blame the coaches

How many games has he been helped off??? Have you ever heard of the story of the boy that cried wolf? If he is out for the year then that sucks and Miami has NO chance to when the ACC title w/o him!

dude a broken ankle isn't crying wolf. stop that bull****. dude got hurt and was in tears on the sidelines.

Terrible news.

I have no doubt Dallas Crawford can play, but our lack of true depth at running back is going to be exposed. This is Miami, running backs grow on trees down here. We shouldn't be in this position to begin with.

Dallas can play. So can Eduardo and Gus, but they aren't Duke.
There's no way to replace Duke because Duke Johnson's don't grow on trees.

All you idiots saying Duke is soft or injury prone, go Fuuck yourselves.

Kid is one of the toughest players I've ever seen. Injuries occur because of situations not because of softness. Duke got tackled and his legs got caught in a bad situation, then 600lbs got pushed onto him. You can be Jerome Bettis, but if you get bent like that something is going to give.

Before the season I said that, to be successful, Morris and Duke can't go down. Morris has been hurt all year and now the heart and soul of our team is out.

I was bummed last night, but now......this is just horrible news for my beloved Canes and for a truly good kid.

I love the Canes win or lose! I love having Duke as a Cane and his passion for the game! He'll be back to his same determined ways next year and I wish him the best! Reality is that the Noles have been building top notch "full" classes prior and after Jimbo became head coach. That advantage has played itself out for the last 3 or more years. They've also upgraded their staff at the OC and DC levels and that has been the biggest difference in their Offense and Defensive performances. Combine Winston's superior aptitude, coaching and timely play calling and you get dominating offensive performances. You see a far different offense than the one Coley was involved with. Noles respected Coley as a "South Florida" recruiter not his coaching prowess.

Our run game consists of primarily 2 plays! Stretch left primarily and Counter Tre right! Our OL allows more penetration than crack *****.

D'Nofrio can't adjust a belt buckle never alone a defense. Whatever the premise behind his defensive schemes its never successful and he can't make adjustments between plays. Offensive Coordinators know that he can't and they just make adjustments consistently during games to "overwhelm" him. How many times have you ever seen him quickly change schemes and keep OC's guessing how to counter our defensive formations? Let me- NEVER!

Say what you want but the better players we're bound to get, won't be as good as they could if these two Coordinators are still pacing the sidelines.

May Duke heal well and be 100% for next years's NC run with a little more depth behind him. and many thanks for all his effort and the thrills he gave us this year. He was have an excellent game against Noles when he got hurt. He altered that D and still was gashing them for nice gains. A couple key catches and the game would still have been close and Noles in panic. Duke was running very strong.

there is a reason coach was so excited about isdora before he got hurt. feliciano is not that good.

Worried about Duke. That ankle looked like it turned inwards when it broke.

Duke won't be the same player next season. Ankle fractures take a full year to recover from, and he won't have the same burst or cuts he has today.

It is critical that we land Fournette, Sony Michel or Dalvin Cook. Do what it takes but make it happen. We breaking out a new qb next year, we need an effective running game.

The thing that concerns me most about the injury was the talk of surgery. For a normal broken tibia or fibula, you don't need surgery. It looked like a grotesque torquing of his ankle. God speed to Duke. He's the truest of Hurricanes and a credit to my beloved alma mater.

So what he leaves it out on da field every game. Duke the only one look like had some heart out there when things was on da down swing for us. The was scared the whole game bobbling every ball came his way. I respect Duke for not folding when it got tough

Not that I know anything about it, but I assumed surgery would a lock when I saw the play. If the surgery is to repair ligament damage, the hope is that they can do it effectively and he can fully recover his flexion and strength, etc. Duke's game is all about burst. Definitely praying hard for the kid. It is the very least that he deserves from the fan base.

One thing that's certain to me--if it is just about hard work rehabbing, etc., Duke will put in the effort and fully recover.

So whats the official on him?

Full recovery? Redshirt?

Is he out of spring?

I feel this staff is too careful with injuries.... My guess is they sit him from spring even if he is ready....
