DT Ford arrives

Sources confirmed to CanesInSight that 2017 DT signee Jon Ford moved into his dorm last night.

It is unclear if he will begin to practice today, but Ford will wear #96 at Miami.

Not really one to get overly excited, but one of the first things I was taught about football was Mean Joe Greene changed outcomes and dictated entire games. These two dudes are true freshmen. What are they going to look like by Spring 2018? Two guys averaging about 6' 6" and 300 before their True Soph season? Arm length. Strong lower body. DJ has weird speed. Ford likes to give crackback blocks on special teams? Makes me want to jump through my window when I think of the Gators in 2019.

DJ will be a complete mismatch in 3-technique if he keeps his "get-off". These two are first team "all-airport" right now. Going to be fun watching them both develop. Kul is one lucky SOB.

Can't recall who it was (maybe Pete?) but back in the late spring, a poster made a comment that Ford had already grown 1-2 inches and gained some weight since the fall and would be at 6-7, 300 in no time (distributed on a great frame). Has some monsters in his family, supposedly.

No, this dude needs snaps THIS YEAR; even if it's only 5-6 snaps per game. He needs PT right now, because we may need him as a starter next season, so the more in game experience we can get for him this year the better. He can be ready for game action by mid-late September

It's likely McIntosh and Norton are gone. We open with LSU next season, mang! I don't want those to be Fords' first snaps/game experience.

Yep. I remember. I can't find the picture, but he comes from a family of seeming giants.

Camera angles, maybe. DJ recently said he was 6' 5", no? Garvin's closer to the camera. He's supposedly around 6' 4". It doesn't really matter, as they all have plus wingspans, though Garvin's seems the most absurd.

This is the reason I never get excited about DB's and Wr's. Football is a mans game won by very fast large men. No other way around it. 7v7 tournaments mean nothing because they never include these dudes.
