LOL well see isn't that funny? i never said he shouldn't play. i'm asking you what your reason is that he SHOULD play? what i shouldn't do, is expect some internet tough guy douchebag to be able to read clearly.

i'll ask for a 3rd time to see if your tiny brain clogged with bong resin can comprehend. why SHOULD lingard play, according to you? other than the video clips of him taking handoffs that obviously gave you a boner. i'll wait.

He SHOULD play because he earned a scholarship to the University of Miami as a 5 Star Gatorade Player of the Year Army All-American RB. Before his injury as a Freshman, he worked his way up to 1st Team KR & 2nd Team RB (the week he got injured he was promoted). You always hear that players shouldn’t lose their spot due to injuries, why is this different? Nobody is saying he should start or be the main back, BUT last year when he got hurt he was ahead of Dallas & Harris (then Davis), that’s why he should play.

that was a well thought out response, but i think the coaches evaluating him have a much, much better grasp on his status and when he 'should' play than fans. call me nuts but im fairly certain the coaches want to play the best players.

he needs to earn his way back onto the field. when 2 players who have produced and remained healthy have earned their way, lorenzo needs to earn his way too. i hope it happens very soon, i've been wanting to watch this kid for 2 years.

Syphilitic, you did say he shouldn't play. Remember your train of thought was going in the other direction, you were probably thinking about bbc, right?

So why should he play?

Because he's goooood, he might score a touch downnnnn, Canes might winnnnn, and his bum looks so cute in his tight little football uniform. Don't you agree snowflake?

I wasn't the one who ranked him coming out of high school, but from your posts we can all see you are smarter than those guys.

Only on CIS does the ***** eye, have a better eye than the ranking services.

So syph, tell us in your evaluations based upon what you've seen this year that leads ONLY you to determine that it is not worth giving him any playing time.

Is he slower?
Cutting not as sharp?
Not running hard enough?
Fumbling?
Not blocking?
Offense too complex?
Etc, etc, etc.

Can't wait for your expert analysis.

It’s amazing how our coaches can’t look at teams who have similar strengths and weaknesses on offense as our players, find a successful model and emulate it with some tweaks to suit us even more.

How are we back dealing with this hard headedness again after Dorito on D and Mork on O for the preceding 7 or so years???
Blake James. I hate this timeline. Bring back the corpse of Paul Dee.

That’s inaccurate. Go back and look at last year. Lingard barely played when he was healthy. And it’s not two years but one. Lingard got hurt October 2018. Most of his time since has been spent recovering...

One year, my bad.

But the fact is he played, barely or not. Reports are that he's healthy now, but can't get burn because he doesn't pass pro? Yeah, ok.

I understand he's spent majority of his time rehabbing, but it's not like the kid forgot to play football.

This sounds similar to Hall not knowing how to tackle? Whose job is it to get him prepared to tackle or Lo prepared to pass block?

Together with all the other logical reasons stated above, Lorenzo should play because.....

  • We scored a paltry 17 points against CMU!!! Yes, a directional school filled with 1-star and no-star players that no-ones even heard of.
  • Our starting RB tore CMU up for 34 yards (averaging 2.4 ypc).
  • Our RB2 tore them up for 20 whole yards (a monster 2.0 ypc). That's Frank Gore-like as a Freshman...maybe not actually he had almost 10 ypc
  • Our top two RBs had 54 yards against the fre@king Chippewhos...OMG this ****@ is depressing

So let's keep our 5-star, Gatorade Player of the Year on the sidelines because we're tearing it up on O (see the evidence above)...and he needs to earn his PT...and he can't block (despite being an elite athlete)....and he doesn't know the playbook (and couldn't possibly learn 6-10 plays)...and the other RBs have earned their PT (with their awesome performance against CMU).

When Manny was hired, most of us were encouraged that he showed a bit of a ruthless streak when making decisions. I feel like he's not showing that same ruthless approach to playing the best players. Lorenzo is simply more elite than our other RBs.

We need to attack teams with speed at every position. We're missing elite top end speed at the RB position when Lorenzo doesn't play. We need to get back to playing Miami ball with blazing fast athletes hitting opponents at every turn. We need to win & win now. It has a huge impact on recruiting. Enos' offense will look waayy more dynamic with Lorenzo playing. That will appeal to recruits. It will also take significant pressure off to Jarren to have a dynamic RB playing alongside him & producing.

If Lorenzo doesn't play a major role, I see a .500 record this season +/- 1 game either way. We're better than that. We have too much talent for our record to be that. That would also hurt recruiting and our program's slumber will be perpetuated.

Let's use our best assets & start winning again.

Fortunately VT has a horrible offense, because Bud Foster is going to expose our OL. JW's composure will be seriously tested.
I think JW is gimpy after that savage beating cmu put on him. Wouldn’t be surprised if VT gets a few free runs at him and finishes him off. A QB can only take so many killshots where defenders drive him into the ground with their full body weight.
