Darling Still Recruiting for Miami

2014 Miami Central offensive tackle Trevor Darling is one of the many team leaders on the rockets team who pushes the younger players to achieve greater goals.

“Right now, were stressing to continue to work hard in practice. We’re going to push them to get the most out of them and get the best out of them. We just talk to them about not letting the pressure get to your head because we’re a big school and just because we have a big fanclub.”

Central’s schedule is jam packed with tough opponents including a trip to to play nationally ranked Don Bosco Prep, as well as playing the talented local teams such as Booker T, Northwestern and Carol City. The towering offensive linemen can’t seem to pick a favorite game though.

“I’m most excited about the national teams, but at the same time the local teams that we play because we know some of the players from the other teams and we talk to each other and get riled up.”

The 6’5 295 pound offensive linemen has been the longest standing commitment for the university of Miami when he gave his pledge before his junior year. While some would think that his commitment would begin to weaken, he reassures ‘Canes fans he is still solidly committed.

“Yes, I’m still a 100%.”

Despite being committed for a while now, the Central product is still hearing a small bit from other schools.

“Not really, but a little bit of Florida State some of Florida.”

Darling is always speaking with the Miami staff and makes the effort to speak to them as much as possible.

“Really, I talk to every one there (laughs). I try to talk to them as often as possible. Any time I get a little time I’ll call.”

The long standing Hurricane commitment has taken notice of the other offensive linemen Miami has recruited and is always speaking with them when he gets a chance.

“When we see each other at camps and things like this, I’ll go talk to them like we are on the same team. Those are my guys right there.”

Despite Darling being truly excited over the 2014 recruiting class Miami has put together, he hasn’t stopped trying to sway other top recruits to join him in Coral Gables.

“Every opportunity I get I talk to somebody, especially (Dalvin) Cook. I still try to get other people to join.”

Both Darling and other Hurricane commitment Joe Yearby seem to be continuously working on Cook, in hopes of him joining in.

“There’s not really nothing to say, he knows it’s just up to him now.”

Today, the top ranked offensive linemen is enjoying himself at the Miami Hurricanes senior day and is looking to continue to work at uncommitted recruits.

“I’ll talk to anybody out there. If there is anybody uncommitted I’ll talk to them.”

Dude has been committed so long he might be a little under appreciated, kid is a beast. Cane through and through

GREAT POST

what better person to recruit Dalvin Cook than the guy who's opening all those holes for him in high school. Has to be in the back of Dalvin's mind. No better friend of a rb/qb than a great tackle & Miami's got 2 of them!!

yea he reminds me of Artie Burns last year a total beast but didn't get as much national hype bc he knew where he wanted to go & committed. Didn't play the hat trick game like the other south florida divas that the Gaytors love so much

Darling is this year's Duke; it don't get no better than that. He is the corner stone of the best Oline in college the next 4 years. It's a Cane thing, and he DOES understand!

Couldn't agree more every time I watched film of burns last year it made me question why he wasn't more blown up nationally

Yup Darling and Yearby are REAL CANES and their threads gets 1 page meanwhile Lane who isn't coming here and everyone knows it gets 15 pages... Can't wait to see the meltdown tomm when he picks UF after everyone here has known for months he wasn't coming here. Same with Cook..

I keep saying its 6 months till NSD so I dont get why everybody is going so crazy right now especially when in January maybe UM will have a chance again. Darling, KC, Yearby and others dont get any love because most fans want the drama of recruiting instead of the humbling kids like Darling

Love this kid!!!

Gotta think him and McDermott should play a big roll in our ability to flip either Sony or Dalvin. Every RB knows they aint **** without some big nastys in front of them...
