Good morning, folks! We’ve could have a fun day ahead of us…

Five-star small forward Shelton Henderson could reveal his college choice today. Currently ranked 14th in the 2025 class by the 247 Rankings, Henderson is considering offers from schools like Miami, North Carolina, Kentucky, Texas Tech, Louisville, and Texas, among others.

Unless something unexpected occurs between now and then until he commits, it is expected that Shelton will choose the Hurricanes according to the 247Sports crystal balls. Duke was his first college choice before he decommitted following the departure of Jai Lucas, the coach who was primarily responsible for recruiting Henderson. However, Shelton's ties to the University of Miami and the chance to play for Jai Lucas, due to their shared Texas roots and Lucas's connection to Henderson's grassroots program, are huge factors. Lucas is a former McDonald's All-American from Henderson's hometown of Bellaire, Texas, and also has a father and brother who run the JL3 Elite program, where Henderson played. This close connection and familial relationship give Henderson a sense of trust in Lucas.

Henderson is a defensive powerhouse, known for being a strong small forward who can defend both inside and outside the post. His capability to handle smaller guards enhances his versatility on the court. Last season, he averaged 2.6 steals and 1.1 blocks per game. Standing at 6-foot-6, 220 pounds, his physical style of play makes him a tough opponent to guard anywhere on the court.

Shelton also excels at scoring at the rim by using his body to create contact with defenders, showing that he isn't afraid of contact. He averages 22.3 points per game, primarily by driving to the basket and finishing strong at the rim. Although he is not the most accurate three-point shooter, he can occasionally hit shots from beyond the arc. He also excels by using his pull-up jump shot.

When Jai Lucas first arrived in Miami, his top priority was to bring Shelton Henderson to Miami. Lucas has the Hurricanes in a good spot to secure Henderson's commitment. If he successfully does so, it would result in a two-man recruiting class that also includes four-star guard Dante Allen, who is ranked No. 42 overall.

There is no expected time when he would announce his college decision, so make sure you stay tuned to the site to get the latest on his recruitment, it is going to be a big day on here today.

Starting 3 for the Canes next year?

Interesting watch. Sounds like Henderson really had his heart set on Duke.

Never understood why kids want to be a cog in the system when an opportunity to play at any P5 school and be remembered as the best player to ever play for said school.

Rick Barry is Miami’s goat. If he comes here I’m not saying he would surpass RB. But he has the chance to be this and last generations best Miami player.

No chance for the same if he went to Duke.
