DJ probably won’t even lineup this year inside as much because of the de depth.

I dont think our DE Depth is that much of an issue to where DJ wouldnt be able to line up inside as often. I would say the main thing that could cut his time playing inside short is the play of some of the new faces at DT like Tito and Nesta. Even Bethel emerging in a more prominent role as well.

We have enough bodies to shift around with Joe, Garvin, DJax, Patchan, Rousseau, and Joyner... Bethel, Willis, and McCloud can all line up at DE as well if necessary.

One of the worst ideas I’ve read here and that says a lot.

This isn’t Madden dude , the dl has talent but is the thinnest position. You don’t move your best pass rusher inside with zero experience inside. DJ was the best run stopper last year , and is by far the best this year. That’s from the Diaz’s actual mouth. He also has a lot bigger lower half than Jj which helps inside.

DJ probably won’t ecen lineup this year inside as much because of the de depth.

I fully agree with you, but I'm not talking about running downs, dude. DJax is a bad dude in the run game, and is pretty solid as rushing the passer.

Now regarding passing downs.. Can you really even argue Djax>J.Jacks ??? Joe Jackson is 10 pounds away from being a freak 5 technique.

DE Rousseau
DT J. Jackson
DT D. Jackson
DE Garvin

At some point I'd appreciate seeing this group pin their ears back. Preferably all 4 standing up without their hands in the dirt to make it extra scary for a QB.

Was just going too post this exact thing. No matter how hard I try, I can't forget Louisville doing this to Folden and Coley's offense and confusing the **** out of everyone and just wreaking havoc. Would be nice to be on the other side of it.

It’s, ‘hey, look. Here’s the deck of cards we have. How do we best deal these cards out?”

no good reason for the slot to be wide *** open all the time

Yeah, that's why I'm leery of all this "Striker" talk. If we're gonna continue to defend the wide side of the field like that, it don't matter what you call it.

He was open. However if 53 takes one or two steps to the flats he is in position to at least alter the throw. But he doesn’t move so it's an easy pitch and catch.

This right here is exactly what i'm talkin about....down and distance is 3rd and 1 backed up inside their 20 yard line and we're in this type of defense!? If McCloud is disguising his coverage then why have him out there like that? And then have Redwine lined up over that same slot receiver 10 yards back and back pedaling at the snap. Thats too easy of a read for the QB...we gave them this 3rd down conversion. We need to more intentional and aggressive...not so passive....we didnt challenge the receiver nor the QB....the play call was going to be safe....down 20 points on the road, hostile environment. I dont understand this at all.

That’s my question. Why? What is the reason we were in that defense? Not a smart asss question just wanting to hear an X and O answer.
