I think Glenn Dennison was named a second team All-American by Associated Press in 1983. You might want to check if I'm right. He would be UM's first A-A.
You’re right. It should have been UM’a first 1st team All American TE.

Having elite recruiters on O is started to show....Hickson pulling Knighton, Fields snagging KSmith from Cali a night before ESD ended, and this year you have Justice pulling in Rodriguez, Likens linked to several big time WRs, and that's not even discussing how Hyppolite and Lockette are quietly putting in work behind the scenes as ACE SoFLA recruiters for us. Chips are starting to fall boys.....

Would think the difference fresh blood makes on the offensive side and the recruiting difference now and see those ****** on the defensive side who couldn't relate to their own family would get Manny to change something

Tight ends dont even need to be heavier than 245 anymore since they get flexed out more often than not. He keeps his speed and fluidity after putting on some weight...oof

Hope lashlee can keep going with his texas connects

People still want Stroud's head
People want that Notre dame game defense and the popular narrative in a that Blake ain’t running the same d as manny or isn’t as good of a dc and that Stroud ain’t coaching at kool’s level. I’m not a coaching or an xo person but that’s what some are saying.

Honestly, when I look at our defensive play last year. I really don’t see a scheme issue. I see an execution and effort issue. Lots of mis-tackles, players out of position, players not consistently winning the one on one physical battles, etc. Every scheme (even one’s considered great) requires the players to execute consistently. There are times we effort was there and we played well as a team, and more often than not, the collective effort wasn’t there. We need our top guys like Rousseau, King, Jordan (wish an OL would step up), McCloud, etc to play at a high level and demand the same of their teammates. When that happens, we won’t be worrying about the scheme.

McCloud was actually solid when he was out there. Definitely outplayed 56. The secondary had a ****load of young guys too. They will be a lot better this year. I hope our DT's step up this year and obviously LB's are going to be the biggest question mark on d.

The biggest improvements I would personally like to see on defense:
1. Our DT’s winning more consistent battles up front. Our DT’s will likely not be receiving the double teams DT’s normally see. Our DE’s will be drawing lots of attention. If our DT’s win more battles we will have lots of TFL’s
2. Our backers have to be decisive and play fast. Shaq was a bit slow on his reads and was awful in getting off or avoiding OL blocks. Even when we would win battles up front, we still would get gashed because our backers would be hold up or “washed” out of the gap they were responsible for. Also, make the tackle when we do get there.
3. Our CB’s were awful in maintaining and collapsing the edge. There were entirely too many times our DB’s were late to read run, took a bad angle getting caught inside, or simply couldn’t defeat the WR block. These accounted for a lot of big plays on outside runs and screen passes. Also, like LB, when CB need to make tackles when they are in play. I don't think they were coverage was that big an issue, from a few bad coverages which lead to big first downs or long TD’s.

Nesta and Ford will have to step up big time, we will be much faster at LB which will be good to see. Need to see much better tackling this year. It was embarrassing how bad that was last year. Ivey scares the **** out of me at CB so hopefully Couch and Williams push his ***.
