Miami is set for one of its biggest tests of the season tonight as the team travels to South Bend to take on Notre Dame.

The CIS staff has made its picks ahead of tonight’s matchup. Some believe Miami gets it done. Others expect a close game in South Bend.

Here’s how the staff sees it:

i remember reading some pop psychology thinkpiece that says the best way to mentally prepare for games like this is to personally pick your team to win but bet heavily on the other team. That way if your team wins, you don’t really care that you lost money, but if your team loses you can cry into your giant piles of money.

I cant bring myself to bet against my own team so that doesn’t work for me but for those nervous people, there you go.

Everybody seems to be forgetting that ND hasn't played ANYBODY GOOD yet this year. All the assumptions about them are about what they've done against bad teams.

We absolutely DOMINATED a very good WF team for a half before falling apart offensively in the 2nd half.. But the defense, even though they gave up a lot of yards, made the stops in that second half when they needed to.

When Mario's teams faces adversity, they show up..we either win big or a close one, but we're winning.

I think it'll be a 28-24 type game but I could also see 45-42 type game if the defense is bleeding all game.

We got way too many media members that think it’s fair / cool to be a hater. **** em

Some real lames pretending to be journalists in here. Sad times.

If the defense can’t hold ND under 30, losing Toney will not be the reason we aren’t winning national championship.

We were very critical of the OL and said it was coaching malpractice - but to Mirabals credit, the OL looks like it is starting to figure things out despite the personnel losses. On the flip side, Hetherman is looking like a fraud at DC. No excuse - NONE- to be this bad on pass defense even with the injuries. We knew what the LBs looked like last season, Miami chose not to get better at that position.
