The time isn’t here yet, but it is inching closer for Carson Beck to get his shot as a starting QB in the NFL. This week, Beck was promoted to QB2 for the Arizona Cardinals.
The Cardinals are 3-5, but to many, that is a surprise, as some projected them to win just 1-2 games this season. The Cardinals had a 33-30 comeback win in OT yesterday, led by then-backup Gardner Minshew, who replaced starter Jacoby Brissett due to poor play.
Earlier this week, Arizona named Minshew the team’s starter and promoted Beck to QB2 from the emergency QB role he held in previous weeks. Subsequently, today, the Cardinals traded Jacoby Brissett to Baltimore. Brissett had started the team’s first eight games.
Arizona is still in playoff contention, but as soon as they are eliminated, I predict they will take a look at Beck as the team’s starter before April’s draft.
