No QB is going to transfer in this year. Period. It's TVD this year and Brown and Williams for the future. The prospects outside the program know this. We also have our 2024 QB and perhaps 2. So, that's 4 QBs in 2024. Who in their right mind is going to transfer in for that.

I think we are unlikely to get a "one-year rental" QB at this point, for a couple of reasons. First, such a guy would have already missed spring practice, thus he would initially be behind everyone else on the learning curve, and second, TVD seems fairly well-entrenched, regardless of willingness to compete, particularly after the NIL holdout.

I think it is far more likely that we could get a QB with multiple years of eligibility. Such a player would have the chance to study the playbook, learn from TVD, and then have a great shot at 2024. Plus, if someone DOES have that willingness to compete, he might feel that he has a decent shot at beating out an "inaccurate" Jacurri and/or a "young" Emory in 2024.

Any QB transferring in is doing so knowing he would only play if injury occured. If he is worthy of competing as a future starter, then you may lose at least 1 and maybe both Brown and Williams. The QB position has to be recruited differently. It is the position most likely to transfer out of a program. An investment in the development of the QBs has been made and should not be thrown away.
