Great win after a slow start. Loving Kelly's play.

Kirk had 15 points, but only 3 boards. Rion had 13 and 11 boards. Kelly had 17 and 7. Manu had 12, 4 assists, 3 boards, and 2 steals. Adams had 10 points. Canes went 10-20 from downtown.

What's up with Jekiri? He only played 12 minutes and had 4 points. He's been disappointing this season.

Jekiri is a project and a role player. Not sure why people think he is more than that. The best thing about him is you can't teach height

Let's also add that Brown had 9 assists, so he also threatened for the triple double. Manu's most impressive stat to me is that this is his second straight game without a turnover, which is insane for a freshman PG.

Jekiri landed on someone's foot in the first half, and didn't come back (wasn't even on the bench that I saw). He wasn't having a terrible game - believe he had 4 and 4 in that time, so while he wasn't dominating (against the first legit big man he's seen all year), he looked better. There will be nights when it looks like the light is off and nights when he looks better.

He was basically carried off the court. No weight on the leg. Didn't look good.

Ah, didn't see that. Must have happened before I started watching.

Was surprised to see Mike Davis was their coach.

Saw somewhere that Shane Larkin was there tonight. Hopefully there will be a picture of him and Manu together (would be interested in seeing the size difference).

From Indiana to UAB to Texas Southern.

Buddy's career progression is stuck in reverse.

Is this team who we thought we were? Can we get to the NIT based on what you see?

/Grammatically dumb
//Where's Deiscane to correct me

Texas Southern's defense was pretty horrid, so i'm not going to draw any conclusions...

Still, it was nice to see the team shoot that well. Really liked the activity level of our smaller lineup.

However, if Jakiri is out for any length of time, we're going to have a ridiculously short bench, during a year that they've decided to call just about everything a foul. Could get sadly comical.

Very good ball movement tonight, and it helps that they were knocking down shots. James Kelly has a nice stroke and will be a big weapon. I feel really good about the big men assuming Tonye isn't seriously hurt, but the injury looked bad. He was down in real pain.

Josh I'll eat crow after rushing to such an early decision on Kelly, he looked great tonight and had a pretty good game that I wasn't able to see against Georgia Southern. He was absolutely awful in the exhibition and the St. Francis game, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well he played tonight.

i thought the team looked pretty good first game ive watched but they are very fast long and athletic i think there just working out there roles they can all shoot and make plays i think sky is the limit for this team honestly acc champs repeat winning as a team

Did you seriously post a Duke highlight on this board? Don't ever do that again. Can't believe no one has said anything about that.

Good write up though.
