Rivals went back to the well and dropped another update to its 2026 basketball rankings, and sure enough, a Miami Hurricanes signee is right there near the top.

That would be Caleb Gaskins, who just got a pretty big bump in the latest Rivals update. The five-star forward is now ranked No. 8 overall in the country. He’s also the No. 3 small forward in the class and, oh yeah, the top player in the state of Florida.

The only guys ahead of him are Tryan Stokes, Dylan Mingo, Christian Collins, Caleb Holt, Cam Williams, Jordan Smith Jr., and Deron Rippey Jr. That’s the list. Gaskins is right there with them now.

Gaskins committed to Miami back on October 30 and signed not long after, giving the Canes one of the best wins on the recruiting trail in a long time. He’s also the second-highest ranked player from his high school to ever commit to Miami.

Christopher Columbus High School is basically in Miami’s backyard — less than five miles from campus. Columbus is 19–6 this season and once again one of the better teams in the state, with Gaskins leading the way.

And if you’ve watched him on the AAU circuit, you already know. Playing for Nightrydas Elite on the Nike EYBL last spring, Gaskins averaged 15.7 points and 7.3 rebounds.

He’s also been on USA Basketball’s radar for a while now, multiple minicamps since 2022, a recent invite to the U19 National Team training camp, and he was a finalist for the U17 team last year.

And yeah… start thinking about a future lineup that includes Shelton Henderson, Tru Washington, and Caleb Gaskins, because that trio has a real chance to be a problem.
