If you're not crying on someones shoulder right now, or just staring at a blank screen with tears rolling down your cheeks, then check out the numbers behind the 27-21 loss over the Indiana Hoosiers.

Despite the loss, Miami actually won the stat sheet.

The Hurricanes finished the night with more total yards of offense and more passing yards than Indiana, but as we all know, football games aren’t decided by box-scores. They’re decided by mistakes. Miami made theirs on special teams.

Two critical errors swung the game.

First, Carter Davis missed a 50+ yard field goal that would’ve pushed the lead to 10–3 heading into halftime. Instead, Miami came away empty.

Then came the backbreaker. On a three-and-out, Dylan Joyce had a punt blocked, and Indiana took it straight back for a touchdown.

That was the difference.

Anyways, check out all the stats below:

Fletcher, Toney, Bain, Mesidor, and Moten had all-time games.

Flanked directly by equally poor games by Bauman, Beck (yes), O’Connor, and Marion

Not trying to jump on that “Fire Dawson” but you can add him to the list.

You can’t take downs/series/quarters off and wins games. This has been a tendency of his since being the Miami OC. Those 2 ST plays doesn’t hurt as much “IF’ the game plan doesn’t take you into a funk for a series to quarters.

I tell you what, I’m ready to move on the next season and hoping we get some good news about the QB today. I think us Canes fans need it after reading a few posts
