Just based off a early educated guess. Regarding class size, attrition, early draft entrants and quality of talent in state at position of WR.

I'd expect about 5 WR in this class. Maybe they would make an exception for a 6th or take someone as an ATH or whatever case may be. 5 sounds realistic.

I could see some type of combination of 5 between Pope, Wiggins, Austin, Moore, Williams and Thompson. Especially the first five very realistic IMO.

I don't expect Copeland or Watkins at Miami but I'm sure Miami would make room for one if one wanted in.

I know I know I have not mentioned Hightower. Brooklyn, I know he's your nephew but for me personally. I have to see it to believe it regarding our presence within IMG.

I really like Jatavious but I get the feel the staff will stay local.

Schwartz is definitely a kid you keep tabs on.

5 is an absolute max. No way we get 6 WRs even if one is an athlete (especially since we're already taking 7+ DBs). Getting 5 would already make 1/5th of our class receivers, and that doesn't even include the 2 TEs we need.

Pope and Wiggins seem like we can already count them as apart of this class. And Xavier Williams will likely be guaranteed a spot. Seems to me the last spot or 2 is between Hightower, Thompson, Copeland, and Austin. Moore isn't needed in this class right after we got Thomas and Harley.

Again it will be difficult to get a full class of 25 this year, so over 5 WRs seems crazy to me. If we got 6 WRs this yr, we'd only be able to get like 1 in 2019.

This. Having more than 12 WR's on a roster is mismanagement. I don't care how talented they are. Only so many of them can be on the field.

This is especially true when you're recruiting slam dunks like Pope, Williams, and Jeff Thomas types. This isn't a scenario where were taking 6 and hoping 4 of them are legit.

We aint carrying 12 WRs. Frankly, i think 9 WRs is enough for 2-3 spots and 10 WRs is max.

By the time 2018 season begins, Harris, Langham, and Berrios will have graduated or transferred, DJ Dallas will be at RB, and Njoku will be at TE.

Our returning WR corps will be Richards, Mullins, Cager, Thomas, and Harley. That leaves room for 5 WRs.

Unless Frierson improves his coverage ability dramatically he shouldn't be playing CB here. He got turned inside out regularly at Paradise.

Agree and he doesn't have enough speed to be an elite corner back. He has more than enough speed to be an elite free safety though

The good thing about the speed of our WR's is that they'll quickly expose any kids who think they're future is at CB instead of S.

I said it once, I said it twice, & I'll say it again. That game vs LSU in 2018 is the biggest regular season game in Miami Hurricane football history. We can literally with one win wipe away the whole SEC stench from South Florida. These kids will ALL be watching & we need to not only win but win in style. That could really be the turning point in this programs recent history.

While I think there's a bit of exaggeration in this statement, the LSU game in 2018 will be incredibly important for lots and lots of reasons. The 2017 season will be a great one for us but the 2018 season is where it should all come together for a serious run at a Natty. In 2018 we'll have an experienced quarterback, absolutely nasty defense with tons of experience throughout, lots of studs at the skill positions, and a deep/strong OL. My family and I will definitely be at that LSU game in 2018.

LSU is a must win, plain and simple. They were the official start of the downturn when they beat the **** out of us in the Peach Bowl. Beating them does so much in terms of recruiting and just an overall internal check that the dark times are over.
You guys are jocking LSU too hard. Lots of teams have been beating them the last few years.

Chise it's not about LSU. It's about stomping out an SEC team on that big stage. I for one think the SEC is severely overrated & I don't blow them like many others. I'm just saying you win that game & kids brainwashed minds may start to change.

That SEC nut juice flows like the Atrato River. It hasn't stopped after that mediocre conference got completely humiliated in bowl season. It didn't stop when slow *** Wisconsin beat LSU last year.

UM just needs to get back to being UM. Fck this SEC ****.

How about this...

This game is all about payback for the 05 Peach Bowl (the official start of our decade of ****tiness)

How about it's just a marquee matchup against a good team that a lot of people will be watching? Too much drama with all the other stuff. LSU didn't destroy our program. Bad coaching hires did.

If we win that game, I think we're in the playoffs that year. Huge momentum to start the season, FSU at home, depth and talent all over the field..

i listened to the podcast this morning, and i picked up on that tidbit about Frierson, too. Anyone have any times on him? curious what he ran at the nike miami combine last year. sounds like he's hurt and won't be participating in it this year. He didnt look that great in the clips from paradise and for his coach to come out and say that he's told frierson he should be play FS due to his lack of speed, has me a little curious about his spot in an extremely deep & loaded class.

40-3 man. It was painful and I was there...

I didn't hear the Podcast yet. I watched those clips from Paradise, and he was getting abused trying to cover WRs. I give him credit for trying, but he looked overmatched trying to cover WRs.

WHOA.... I have to agree, Chise +1000

I now live in BR. People that find out I'm a Canes fan love to bring up the Peach Bowl and the Robbie Morrison/Warren Morris fiasco. I agree with Chise about the magnitude of the game from the program's perspective but, personally, I need us to curb stomp them.

I was there too. It was my first canes game and I was 11 since then I am 0-4 for canes games.

I was there in 95 too; as was Richt and his wife who sat behind us.
