The question is will Golden hire the OC from an existing staff member (Carroll or Cristibol)? The positive from hiring on staff is we could stay with similar terminology and philosophy to a point. We lose that with the hire of Cristibol, considering he has to learn the new offense as well, so that theory is out the window.
We will need to hire a QB coach anyway, considering there isn't a QB coach on the staff? Unlike coaching wide receivers I do think that experience is important coaching that position.
Will other offensive staff members be upset if they are bypassed for the OC?
Chances are Al brings in QB coach/OC. Time will tell though.

It sucks for continuity and the fact that McDonald left. Other than that, Golden knows that this is part of the game and I trust him to be prepared. He made good hires when he came here and now we have a better product to attract better coaches.
Like someone else already said. This happens to Saban and Bama doesn't skip a beat. Good coaches know what to do. Fisch was not the end all be all of Miami football.

I dont think he is getting the HC job they said that if Kelly left he would get the job. Now Kelly has left and he has not been given the job yet. They are looking else where.
Maybe Mario can take over as OC and hire a new TE coach... ijs

They got heat from the State of Oregon for stating that they were just going to hand the job to Helfrich without interviewing anyone. So, now they're doing the fake interviewing process. Then, they'll give him the HC gig.

# yikes at some of u guys. Fischer prob got a 100% raise, and that's not saying UM pays bad. Nfl coordinators make great $. Guess what else.......he doesn't have to recruit anymore. He has 4-5 months off instead of sucking up to high school kids and their parents. Nfl coordinator is a great gig.

This shouldn't be a complete surprise. I figured we were safe kinda when the Seattle OC didn't get a HC gig. Either way, Golden is still here. That's what matters.

Some people act like JF was blocking and running. We got Duke and Collins, DBC can coach the O and we would be fine. This is the U it doesnt matter as long as the head coach is a boss and he is. We good enjoy the ride.

Well **** this was some ****** news to wake up to. Any comments from the recruits on campus? Did he pull a tuberville on us and just walk out or what?
Not sure why people think this is a big deal. There was a thread almost every week last season that complained about his play calling. Pretty sure that Golden will be fine with another play-caller. What's unknown is how much of an effect he had in the development of Morris, but its not likely that he had some amazingly unique attribute that couldn't be replicated by another decent QB coach. Recruiting is on Golden. People come to play for him, not Fisch.

Even though I hate you I agree with this post. It sucks because I'd rather have continuity but it's not a big deal. We will be able to shuffle coordinators here as long as Golden is the HC. This isn't Shannon or Coker.
