Asshat or not, his system is appealing to QBs. I don’t know any of these guys personally, but I don’t think all these great players have been willing to play for Saban and now a guy like Cignetti, because they are so lovable.
Meh i remember the Cam Ward process. It was very similar. At least this year we have a whole National Championship game at home to occupy us.
I would think Mario wants everyone back to 100% focus on the NC game today with upcoming practice and prep.
With that, i would have expected to see Leavitt announcing last night. If he signed before leaving, there would be no reason to delay it any further than getting home. A few other priority transfers all announced yesterday, as expected. All other top QBs are locked in, minus Raiola (who's simply waiting on Moore). Since that didn't happen, i think there's a low chance it does because it tells me Mario and Co weren't willing to go where Leavitt or Leavitt is still playing games with other teams, which i don't see Mario continuing to entertain with what's in front of him next week.

I mean, he is probably the best coach in the game right now. At least top-5 with Cignetti and Smart. His teams are fun to watch. Most teams have their QB1 go down and are fd. Not him. But it is everything but the games that makes him less appealing.
Raiola, Leavitt, Longstreet all still unassigned. If Canes do not get Simpson, have to assume it will be one of the other 3.

If we miss out on Leavitt it's because the staff did not want to pay up. Report is already out that we offered $6.5 million for Simpson. If the staff thinks Leavitt is not worth that, they've earned the right, we are playing for the natty in a week.
I don't include Longstreet in the equation bc he's unproven. I'm talking proven walk-in Day 1 starters. Raiola is the only other top guy out there and he's waiting on Oregon.
It was probably mentioned before, but I think that Leavitt's waiting to see how we do in the game. Specifically, coaching, scheming. Maybe I'm giving him too much credit (intelligence). ha
