Who gives a crap if the players are smoking in their spare time? If their grades are up and they are performing in the off-season program, then obviously weed is not a problem for them.

Spoken like a functioning smoker

Why is that an issue? The key word is functioning, if you can succeed and smoke weed, than there is no problem. Just make sure you succeed.

I think it's call team rules. But now I know the true meaning of "flying around"

Actually, I think the drug testing is an NCAA thing. If we were testing guys for weed without some kind of obligation to do so, that would be incredibly stupid.

In the context of the NCAA making the rules, the guys just need to abide by the rules even though they are pointless and intrusive.

The NCAA does random drug test. It would be smart for any college or university to also do the same. Say what you want about weed but we don't need anyone getting in trouble by the NCAA and if the teams drug test prevent that then I am all for it.

I'm cool with testing if the NCAA is going to be testing anyway. Miami doesn't get to make the rules, we just inspire negative rules.

I like, correct that...love, the fact that Golden is building from the ground up. He's laying the foundation down. This team with time will be in his image, and, if so, this team will win. The fact that he's becoming tougher to me signifies that he's starting to feel more comfortable with what he's trying to do, and that he feels more confident in general with the overall quality of players he has on the team.

I dont smoke, but have no problem with people who do as long as it doesnt affect their performance. The problem in this case, however, is that players get tested and especially right now, we do not need the extra heat.

I wasn't aware that players were tested by the NCAA, and in that case they should not smoke, as it would endanger the success of not only the player but the team and university.

I could not agree more.

I don't see why anyone has a problem with pot because it's a given fact that when studied and analyzed by top biophysicists, with a test set of more than one-thousand subjects that it showed . . . what were we talking about?

I only have a problem with weed if you are addicted to it. I have no problem with any athlete smoking occasionally. They can drink occasionally. I don't want any alcoholics on the team though.

Shouldn't fail an NCAA drug test period. I'm not against weed but come on man. Moderation.

Aldarius was a **** pothead and we still have one or two still on the team. I'm talking smoking all day and night.

How come no one is upset with Cain? That guy is the epitome of a Shantard reach. Hasn't done jack, and when he did play last year he was slow to the ball carrier and didn't make many plays.

Payne was 2nd on the depth chart based on the U tough workouts so he must have been doing some type of work to be recognized by the coaching staff. Can't believe these kids.

Seantrel is slowly flushing his life down the toilet. Kid was guaranteed to be a first round draft pick and the best LT in college football coming out of High School but addiction and injuries have curbed that dream.

These kids better get their heads out of their *** and start realizing their futures are in serious jeopardy. Coach is not going to put up with their puff partying no matter what the guys on this board say about smoking out being a harmless vice. NFL teams are not creaming their pants waiting to draft kids who smoke weed (kids suspended previously for doing that) either.

f'n shame.

Too be fair Spider, Cain wasnt slow to the ball... He was probably always first to the ball but his issue was strength... He'll get to the ball carrier and either get drugged or broken... He's a talented kid... His issue is strength but what I understand is his issue to constantly stay in trouble... I mean he was probably the most scrutinized recruit in the 2010 class, he should be working hard to prove everyone wrong... And wasnt he listed as a starter of the spring depth charts? He's putting work in to, he's just being stupid... He's probably our most athletic backer... But all that talent gets negated when you're weak... And last year he was weak...
