The team could honestly have open tryouts on campus for anyone who wants to try punting and get someone better than Smeagles. I'm not even exaggerating, punting isn't THAT hard.

Lmao

I know but that's not what I'm talking about..
I was surprised to see Cam'ron get 5 carries. Looked pretty good, but I was expecting Burns to get 3rd /4th string action.
Maybe the coaches wanted to see him get carries one last time before they redshirt him.
Cam and Zo did a good job yesterday so I’m guessing Richt wanted to roll with the hot hands to get them quality reps.

The punting game really bottomed out.

Is there no one sitting on a fvckn sofa in Monroe, Dade, Broward, or Palm Beach counties with NCAA eligibility who can punt a ball on avg 35 yds?

He/she/zee/it/whatever would be an upgrade at this point.

Romeo Finley has looked great in coverage I love him in on passing downs. I think the running game is going to be more consistent with Perry in because defenses won’t be able to clog the line because he can actually complete a pass. More gurvan hall to backup because his range is great and that hit yesterday oh boy! Amari Carter looked good as well yesterday

Perry's 3 TD passes were freakin awesome!

Unfortunately, Miami doesn’t have a male soccer team so it would have to recruit from the intramural teams. Also, I believe the FIU punter graduates this year so....

But we do have a women's team? I don't think there's a rule forbidding female punters...

As far as the punter situation..it can always be worse than it looks. There a reason why we keep running that kid out there..can bubba punt?? Be the next bosher and do both

Scaife reminds me of Kelvin Beachum. Shorter tackle but long arms and very solid. Beechum has had a nice career and I think it is more and more evident scaife can be a T, C, or G. Neal, Campbell, maybe Herbert will have some say but he is an absolute gem and will only get better and better.

Feagles deserves to get some hate, but that first punt wasn't a short punt because it was bad. He was literally just trying to keep it from going into the endzone, so it landed at like the 18 or something. I wouldn't be calling that a short punt. Thats fine.

I do hope to see us do more quick punts - especially around our own 30-50. Like thats a good idea imo. You line up like you're going to go for it - and we should go for some 4th downs, so the defense can't put someone back or we'll just convert. So they keep their guys close, Perry does a quick punt that probably travels 20 yards in the air but rolls an extra 15-20. I'd be down for something like that, especially if we actually go for it someties.

You're right, the first one wasn't bad, and that's the really frustrating part. It's not like he can't punt it 45 yards, he just doesn't it often enough.

Romeo Finley is a baller. I'm glad he was mentioned here. Love his range and tackling technique.

Can Bubba punt?
He can't be any worse
Actually yes. He was a kokls kicking camps 5* kicker and had a 4.5* punter rating. Also can cardense or whatever the grad transfer kickers name is not punt either?

Who scouted Feagles anyway?

Its Jeff Feagles kid. Its likely he barely got a good look outside of a camp. Only box he had to check off was that he was a former punters kid. I can't imagine a lot of thought went into that one.

Who scouted Feagles anyway?
He probably went to those scouting website as for specialists and he picked out of the top 5 for punters and kickers in feagles/baxa.

What people don’t know is that these camps do have pressure to preform but no where near to what it is when your on campus or when the bullets are live.

Also not spewing but a few kids in these specialists sites have bias just like 247 does with SEC recruits. The bias is these kids have been going to those specialist camps since as early as middle school with the same guys running the camps. If you’re somewhat decent at kicking and have been chummy with the dudes who run Kohl’s or Rubio you will be ranked high for those websites. Again not spewing it’s true you can probably pick like 3-5 kids in the top ten that have specialist film with those websites dating back to early highschool/middle school
