Dan you are without a doubt the MAN, this all was a great read and reliving the past was like yesterday, even though all not great with the demise of the program. IMHO, your work is special and should be commended accordingly. TIFWIW

Great read......Paul Dee was a disgrace. Not shocking that an obese Gator would be the downfall of the program.

One day there will be statues of Dan, and Darius Rucker will ask him to be in a music video...wait, what?

Always a good read Dan. Appreciate the work you put in both for this series and all post-game recaps.

It sucks to have actually lived through all of this. Yet, eerily, it doesn't seem all that long ago.

the media was so out of control after the FiU fight. As Dan said, FIU was cheap shoting the entire night and final,y got what they were looking for....but lf course Miami took the heat.

It was so hard trying to explain that to people who hadn't seen the game. They just assume 'Miami is a bunch of thugs' and that I was biased with my opinion; and sure, of course I am going to be somewhat biased, but I don't know anyone that actually watched the game that can fault Miami. Merriweather's actions during the fight are another matter...

This right here. And I always have to call bull**** on most people who didn't go to UM who say they actually watched the game b/c it was on ESPN 33 or what the **** ever and nobody but a diehard Canes fan would be sitting in front of their computer watching us play FIU on a Sat night.

It's sad to me because these are the Canes teams I grew up watching. I'm only 17, was really too young to care about football during the early 2000's, so I've never really witnessed a great Canes teams. I remember my dad telling me how Randy wasn't going to stand for the bull**** our team was displaying and he was gonna turn the program around.... I believed him. LOL

Yea, this was already way too long so I cut out the part about how this was before ESPNU and ESPN3 were readily available to everyone. So to watch this game outside of SoFLA you had to order ESPN Gameplan, which I did. And because so few people actually watched the game, they assume that the 10-15 minutes that the game was halted for was because the fight was so long. When in reality, it lasted for about a minute, and it took the refs about 10 minutes to sort out the ejections.

I had to watch it on ESPN gameplan, so I call bs on anyone who isn't a Miami fan who claims they saw it live.

Love the doctor who reference. And this really takes me back. I honestly thought Miami was going to seriously contend for the acc. But they couldn't contend for the coastal.
