5-star T Evan Neal still taking time with decision as mom pushes for Miami

Neal and Stevenson are the most important recruits this cycle. Miss on stevenson and we can maybe find a solid plan B. Miss on Neal, a legacy with 5 star 1st round talent at a position of need, hard to recover. These type of guys rarely come around.

Especially a tackle in south Fl.

I will be pleasantly surprised if he comes.

I think he's either trying to take an honest look all his top schools so he can make an informed decision or he's trying to find something other than Miami.

He knows all he can about us and his family wants him here, but hasn't pulled the trigger. That is a big red flag to me, but we gotta keep trying.

No doubt Neal has to be our biggest need target for the '19 cycle.

I read somewhere else he said if it were up to his Mom he’d already be committed to us, but he is going to make his own decision. Said he’s been wanting to visit FSU, and wants to visit Bama. I have no idea what the kid is thinking but nothing he said got me excited.

He said this, quit trying to spin something like it’s bad...
"She's on me about it," Neal added when asked why mom hasn't gotten him to pull the trigger yet and commit to Miami. "But like I say, it's a decision that I'm going to have to make. I'm going to take my time with it and not jump the gun on any decision, because I only get one of them

Sorry Brock I don’t think that’s the same article. Maybe the different writers take the same interview and spin it differently? I wrote what I recalled this morning. I didn’t try to spin it negatively. Just said I didn’t know what he was thinking and that he didn’t say anything to get me excited. I didn’t say he wasn’t coming or that he was going elsewhere. If you know if an interview to get me excited that he wants to come here, or that he says he’s leaning towards it, Let me know, as that would be great.

On second read, it may be the same. Show me in your quote where you think he’s implying a lean here.

The way I see it it's obvious...kick a$$ on the field this year and he is ours. Get him on an official for the FSU game...takes care of that competition. As far as Alabaga...just have to have a great season and show him we can get close to the playoffs. Tell him he can be a leading role in a resurrection...or just be another tackle in AL.

Didn’t no one say he was a lean but Miami is obviously in a really good spot

I’ll agree with that. Looks like a three horse race with his family backing us. Peace brother🙌🙌🙌

I’m all for a kid making the best decision for himself. Just sucks that most of our top targets have to second guess choosing to stay home. Think that makes it clear what recruits think of us still. We as fans know we’re trending up but a lot of kids are front runners a la Surtain.

Think once Miami takes that next step we will wash away a lot of doubt. I could handle a 3 game losing streak but getting blown by Clemson the way we did was just a flat out bad look. I’m hoping our boys got their heads down getting ready to smack LSU opening weekend. That will by itself generate some much needed buzz...
