After Miami’s 31–27 win over Ole Miss to punch its ticket to the national championship, the excitement wasn’t just felt on the field.

One of the top wide receivers in the Class of 2027 was locked in and loving every second of it.

Five-star wideout Nick Lennear, was fired up watching his hometown team close it out. Lennear, ranked as the No. 17 player nationally, the No. 4 wide receiver in the country, and the No. 3 prospect in Florida, was seen hyped up and running around the room as the Hurricanes sealed the win over the Rebels.

Safe to say, Miami’s big moment had the next class paying close attention.

Check it out:

Not long before that, Lennear released his top five, which includes Miami, Syracuse, Florida State, LSU, and Texas A&M.

Lennear already holds an impressive offer list featuring schools such as Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, Indiana, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Miami, Michigan, Nebraska, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Pitt, Tennessee, Texas, USC, West Virginia, SMU, and FIU, among others.

This is exactly why winning matters. Elite recruits notice who shows up when it counts. Miami’s momentum is real.

Is this kid really the goods? I'm not sure how excited I get about 5 star wideouts unless it's obvious (like j smith) over the portal. Malachi was a 3 star, JoJo was a 5 star... I would bet anything JoJo cost us more.

We also miss on so many 5 stars...

College basketball has two types of competitive teams. Ones that are old and have played together for a while and a group full of one (or two) and dones with a couple of key upperclassmen. You hit on the 5 stars youre a Duke or an Arizona, you miss youre a Kentucky. You build the team up your a BYU or a Gonzaga. All pretty good teams but the Arizona and Dukes will be in the finals more often.

The portal is a way to ensure your one and dones are legit. It's the best more assured way to build the most competitive team for the money.

Hitting on 4 stars is gold, 3 stars is diamond but whiffing on a 5 star is poison. Samson and JoJo prob hurt our budget and for the money we should have been able to pull starting caliber portal studs.

Recruiting is just in this weird place for me right now. I used to love it but now the portal is everything. Go get me a top 25 player out of high school and find me some gold and diamonds, but break the bank on the portal. Recruiting rankings be dammed.
