Miami Hurricanes football and wide receivers coach Kevin Beard received some notable news in the 2027 recruiting cycle, as one of the top prospects in the class has released his list of finalists , and Miami made the cut.
Quentin Burrell, a 6-foot-3, 175-pound prospect out of Chicago, Illinois, told On3 that his top schools are Miami, Missouri, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt, Indiana, Arizona State, LSU, Oklahoma, Nebraska, and Michigan. No commitment date has been set.
Burrell is rated as the No. 9 wide receiver in the 2027 class and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Illinois, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
He holds an impressive offer list. In addition to his finalists, Burrell also holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Louisville, Ohio State, Oregon, South Carolina, Purdue, Tennessee, and several others.
On the field, Burrell has been highly productive. He posted 67 receptions for 1,139 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior. For his high school career, he has totaled 142 catches for 2,396 yards and 34 touchdowns. He also broke his program’s career receiving touchdown record early in the 2025 season.
According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Notre Dame is currently the favorite to land Burrell, holding an 80% projection at this time.
