Wrong, and this is exactly the reason he's not coming here. He's not better than Jordan or Mallory, and he'd be dumb to come here because he'd be sitting on his *** most of the time for 2 years. The kid is going to go somewhere he can play right away, and rightfully so. That's not Miami.

**** we should have oyu recruit him

I've said for 6 months that if Todd Hartley can get this kid to sign here, he should have a statue of himself built just outside the new IPF. It would be that impressive. That being said, I don't think they'll be roping off an area for it any time soon. It's about as uphill climb as you can have when you're trying to bring a kid like this in and he's looking at the 2 freaks ahead of him who have 3 years of eligibility and will have the opportunity to prove themselves immediately. Jordan is gonna hit the field Day 1 and never come off of it, and I believe Will Mallory is every single bit the prospect that Jordan is as well, but it may take him just a little bit longer to prove it. Barring injury, Larry Hodges and/or Jalen Wydermyer won't see the field much until they're upperclassmen, either. Just my $0.02.

Not exactly rocket science. But, regardless stack chips. Our current situation definitely has me not stressing the TEs we get this cycle too much. But, def need to end up with 1-2. Hodges is a good depth guy.

We have a 2 set TE offense. He has the talent to be 3rd in the rotation next year.

This board never thinks ANYONE is coming.

It's absurd how much negativity this is, even around guys outside people are confident we land. Neal, Richards, Bogle, Stevenson, Zipperer, it doesnt matter

People want us to recruit 4* and 5*, then cry when we actually have to recruit against UGA, Bama, FSU for them.

Having said that, if he waits Wyedemer will take his spot. Wydemeyer is taking an OV during the season and he really is talking up Miami

Who’s crying? I read what he said and projected that we ain’t getting him. It’s not that big of a deal imho. It’s not like he’s the only fish in the sea, I just hope the staff is looking for other options, and they clearly are.

Don’t thnk he’s just talking about him but just in any recruit in general when people complain why hasn’t he committed yet(ala Neal or whatever)

Oh, absolutely. Zipperer is a luxury right now, you're 100% right. And **** yeah stack chips, that's why I'm saying if Hartley gets him he should be given the key to the city. I just think Zipp has multiple better situations he can get himself into rather than fighting 2 absolutely elite prospects for playing time. Hodges and Wydermyer added to the 2 last class turns the position from what it is today (raging, volcanic dumpster fire) to an absolute strength.

Fair enough. At some point, though, we have to acknowledge the truth. It is different here. Unless we out of the blue have a massive bag game, we’re not going to start picking up 6-7 blue chips on signing day that other schools led for up until a week before. Building our classes really is all about relationships and we need guys to be on board and be vocal about it, or else it becomes clear that they want illegal incentives that we can’t provide. When you read comments like what Zip just said, and don’t understand that there is a very low chance he is coming here given what he is “looking for in a school”, you either understand it or you don’t. There is no emotion here, it just is what it is.

Im not tripping on It really. if he comes great but if he doesn’t we will be more than fine too

I hate to see squabbles over this topic. We should be able to come to some common ground.

IMO everyone has a point here. We need to recruit and win some, especially locally, against Baga, O$U, Clem$on, UGAss and the like to get to where we want to be. That said, we've struggled against the bag game enough times that guys can get resigned to the fact that they've seen the movie before and know how it ends.

And often it does not end in our favor but it doesn't always end that way... There are born Canes, as @Mahoney-Pearson says, who could've gone anywhere and stayed to put on for this U.

Successful or not, Duke Johnson, AR, Tracy Howard and Stacy Coley had offers all over. Satan flew his copter to see Gurvan Hall, not Josh Joke.

Either way, we need to win on the field and we still need to fight for every top local recruit and make the bagmen and coaching staffs spend resources. We certainly don't want to concede every top recruit like defeated bîtches but some guys are also looking for a payday and/or are running a circus recruitment and while we shouldn't liberally throw in the towel on the elite talent, those situations I mentioned are probably out of our hands.

Identifying local guys early that blow up like Joe Jax and Rousseau and pulling guys like Bandy and Shaq, will be critical to wins on the field and then in recruiting.

GO CANES!

Bama stacks chips all over. UGA is doing it too...look at their QB and OLine classes. We need to get back to that. One place we've had success at that is at RB. I think we'll get there.

Hard to blame em. What they are paying top end recruits these days, it's understandable. It all depends on the kid and how bad the Alabama's
Georgia's, Clemsons, OSUs, etc want the kid.

I prefer to be optimistic, but also very realistic given the climate these days.

UM

I don't think anyone on this board is crying. Most of the board realists can see the writing on the wall. He's openly said he wants to go out of state. He's sweating Bama. Also interested in UGA and Clemson. What does all of that tell you about this kid? Read between the lines.

Ah, the board “realists.”

I don't think he's going to be a Cane either. Just 2 days ago, SB Nation quotes him saying Alabama and Oklahoma are the finalists with Florida lurking.

I think he sees the talent here and doesn't want to sit for 2 years. However, competition would make him a better player. Isn't that what Saban sells?

Irony is that even if he waited a bit to play, he’d actually be part of an Offense that actually is TE heavy. With Others, he would be a glorified fb/Deglorified OT who gets a pass thrown his way here and there...which to me would be lame. But, maybe he likes to go down slides or playing putt putt golf more.

Yes, but we can't offer the extra cash as compensation for sitting the bench and waiting his turn like at Baga.

If it were anybody else recruiting him from the staff besides Hartley I wouldn't feel positive but that mother fvcker is a closer! I's got faith!
