The ink on the paper is dried - Chris Birden Jr. is a Miami Hurricane.
Caneshoops reported the news this afternoon on Instagram and X that Birden has officially signed with Miami. “Welcome to the U, @chrisbirdenjr.” He originally committed on April 21 to keep things rolling for Jai Lucas.
In his senior season he played at the AAA level and averaged 17 points per game and 8 rebounds per game showcasing some promising talent.
Birden is one of eight players incoming transfers and recruits currently committed to Jai Lucas and the Hurricanes. Along with Acaden Lewis, Somto Cyril, DeSean Goode, Brent Bland, Nick Dorn, Quinn Berger, and Caleb Gaskins (No.13 recruit nationally)
With real NBA potential as a 4-and-D threat, plus four seasons of college eligibility he could be a legitimate threat in Coral Gables with a lot of size and length.
