Three-star (Irvine, CA) cornerback Jacob Whitehead who goes to high school at Crean Lutheran High School, in Southern California, trimmed his top choices to just eight schools.
The Hurricanes were included.
Whitehead announced on Monday afternoon that he trimmed his list to just eight schools. Six of his eight schools are coming out of the South Eastern Conference (SEC), including Auburn, Florida, Missouri, Tennessee, Texas, and Texas A&M.
Miami and the USC Trojans are the only two teams that are not in the SEC that still stands with the three-star cornerback.
Whitehead doesn't have the highly ranked stars, he's only recognized as a three-star prospect in the class of 2027. Whitehead ranks as the No. 442 player in the nation, while also being considered as the No. 44 cornerback, and the No. 37 player out of California.
Depsite only being ranked as a three-star prospect, Whitehead still holds an impressive offer list. He holds offers from Auburn, Miami, Florida, Missouri, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Auburn, BYU, Louisville, Oregon, and Nebraska, plus many other schools involved in his recruitment.
Whitehead is 6-foot-2, 165-pounds. He has some growing to do, especially since he has one more year of high school football left.
Whitehead already saw the Hurricanes campus once. He traveled more than 2700+ miles to see the Hurricanes play, and win, against the Syracuse Orange, during the month of November.
