Sigh. Can't even get excited any more. Forever limp.

Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) University School CB Ricardo Hallman has some serious Miami Hurricane ties.

His stepfather is former Cane great Frank Gore, and he’s also current Hurricane striker Gil Frierson’s cousin.

“(Gore) told me he’s not going to influence me to go anywhere, that it’s my choice, but he told me just Miami’s a great fit,” Hallman said. “He tells me all about it there, everything that I need to know. He tells me to enjoy the process and look for the best fit for me, school for me.

“And (Frierson), he told me he loves Miami, that it’s a great place to be.”

Hallman lists 13 offers, including UM, and says he’d like to make a decision before the season.

“Miami’s definitely high in my picture, one of my top schools I’m looking at,” Hallman said.

He hasn’t put out a list of favorites yet but says Miami will be on there.

“I grew up a Canes fan, like the swag that comes with being part of the Canes,” Hallman said. “I’m just a big fan of the Canes, always have been.”

His Miami recruiter is cornerbacks coach Mike Rumph.

“He wants me to get there to visit as soon as possible, I’m supposed to go to a spring practice next week,” Hallman said.

Hallman also plans to visit Louisville, Mississippi, Wisconsin and Michigan this spring. All have offered. Is Miami in a good spot with him right now? “They’re in a great spot,” Hallman said. “I tell coach Rumph that I love Miami all the time.” We have to think there's a great shot he'll get added to this class.

When you have poor position coaches you get bad recruiting there as well. Our CB recruiting has been dreadful, players getting signed and not making the roster and others simply not good enough. We signed a bunch of DBs in Frierson class and then it was like we good..

That’s just how 247 describes the crystal ball system. Is U-School now tru prep academy?
U SCHOOL is sitting the year out and allowed their kids to go to TRU PREP. So essentially that is U SCHOOL sprinkled in with 1 or 2 kids.
