2015 Miami Killian (Fla.) Safety Jaquan Johnson made headlines last year, as he was only a freshman yet still made All-Dade first team. This year he is looking for his team to make headlines as well.

“We’re looking good and we have been working real hard.”

Killian has a big opening game to start off the season against Homestead next week and he described what they need to do to win.

"It's going to take a lot of hard work and just coming out and playing.”

Johnson says he and the team are ready, “we’re real excited, in practice you don’t want to hit anybody, but you're so excited that you do it and you might get in trouble.”

While the star safety is preparing for the season, he still keep an eye on his recruitment.

“I haven’t been talking to any schools lately, I’m just keeping my options open and looking forward to playing.”

Some of the schools the Killian product has been speaking with include: Florida, Florida State, Alabama and Miami.

“I really like the history and the swagger they brought to college football.”, Johnson says about the Canes.

Johnson spoke with coach Paul Williams at the Al Golden Football Camp this summer and said that Williams evaluated Johnson.

The elite 2015 prospect has played against very good talent in South Florida, but says the best player he has ever had to cover was Herb Waters.

Johnson indicates that he will choose a school on the following premises.

“If the coach can be there 100% and if the coaching staff really likes me.”
