200 pounds?

Kinda light for a LB in this scheme.

Kid is barely through his JR year of HS. I'm sure he can be a 215 lb SR in no time and show up in August after his senior year at 220+. He may not be 240 to start playing ILB in a 3-4, but at the weight he'd come in at, he's exactly the kind of kid you want playing special teams while putting on some muscle/weight.

The obsession over weight on this board is comical at times

yup

He is 15-20 pounds more than 200

I'm not a huge Sheppard fan. From the times I've seen him, he looks stiff and almost too big.

200lbs isn't great, but he might be getting looked at for the coverage linebacker spot. Which doesn't make it as huge of a deal. Kid looks like he can very much run so it is pretty great.

This thread now has posts about a player being too small and too big. Awesome.

His film is not that impressive, but some people faster than they look. He looks average.

Pete: Is this a case of Cristobal liking a recruit and trying to push him on Saban? I ask because I remember Mario being a big fan of Alin Eduardo and lobbying to get Bama to offer?

Yeah I'll take Saban's evaluation skills over yours. Do you get paid $5 million a year to evaluate HS LBs?

I doubt that Bama offer is commitable but we will see

I have never seen him play live, but his first tackle on that film was weak sauce. My first impression was "blah". tall, lanky, and not as explosive as i thought he would be. Although Sean Spence had same measures dating back to his HS days, it was obvious why many refer to him as the "missle"- He packed a punch. He was like the young lion learning how to hunt. **** was fearless.

Get him here worry about weight later.

6'2 200 as a JR in HS shouldn't be a worry. Kid has time to put on 10-15 pounds before he ever plays a collegiate snap.

Not a fan either, does not have explosion while tackling or good pass coverage, look at the film of Sh'mar Kilby-Lane and you will see a big difference.
