Has a head coach in waiting ever been a position coach? That sounds weird as ****. I'm not sure, but I feel like they're almost always coordinators.

Regarding Schiano, I heard from Corn Breath that there's a strong possibility he becomes Butch's DC for a year or two to get back into coach, produce a savage unit, and find his way to a head gig again.

Not sure what happens after Butch leaves, but recruiting could get pretty crazy in the meantime with Cristobal and Butch.

Awesome stuff here OP! Thanks for the great info.

I have a hard time believing this. Schiano could be a head coach somewhere next year if he really wanted to be. Maybe even back at Rutgers.

The desperation is really apparent from Cuban Alf. The dude knows that nobody else will consider him for a HC job so he's trying to rally the sofla mafia to push him for the gig. I don't think he'd be doing that if he's had convos with Butch about being a HCIW - I don't think that's too legit. Jmo

That was really hard to read. From what I could glean there wasn't anything new or of note in there. Butch is a candidate, and he used to not be a candidate.

We want Butch... the recruits and high school coaches want Wario.

I dont want Wario... but it makes sense to bring him in on the staff in some capacity to get the recruits we need to assemble the dream team. No recruit would say no to Butch and Cristobal.. them two recruiting together down here right now would collect a team to take us over the top.

That being said I doubt Wario ever becomes the head coach at UM. Let him recruit a year or two with Butch and then take a HC position somewhere else. I have no idea the infatuation w/ Wario but Ive been hearing his name like crazy at the high school level since last season when Goldie shouldve been fired.. they really like the guy.

Bring in the cant coach traitor if that what Butch wants... then let him go wherever. A few years of recruiting from this guy would be extremely beneficial to Butch getting who he wants.

Geo, any idea on how long Butch wants to stay? I hope at least 4 or 5 years, which is fine but 2 or 3 even for him is not enough time to hand the keys to Can'tcoachball. Besides, I'm sure Butch wants to hoist that trophy before riding off in the sunset.

Can'tcoachball? You're better than that

Can you read?

Yes I can and I read the lamest nickname in the history of the internet. Lol

DiMare wants Butch and it's legitimate. Aren't you a Butch supporter?

Seems like a really top notch search committee.

No doubt they'll make a home run hire given the right amount of time.

A lot of winners in that circle, you guys are right, we'll have the biggest name on the market without a doubt.

Someone should send them Chip Kelly or Tom Hermans Wikipedia page. Otherwise it's Chud, Cristobal or Butch.

I'll take Butch please.

D$ has already said a dozen times that DiMare is in Butch's corner.

Butch is ok if he brings in a monster OC and a dynamic DC. I couldn't stomach a John Shoop type of hire at OC though.

I'd like to see him hire Kevin Wilson as OC when he gets fired Indiana. And bring in Leavitt as DC. If he does that, then I'll be ok with Butch.

If he sticks with his stone age ultra-conservative vanilla approach to offense, gear up for a lot of 8-4 finishes.

Geo - thanks for the post. It will calm the natives for sure.
Question - any truth to the media reports that Charlie strong is in the mix? Has interest and /or the interest goes both ways?

Geo, What kind of offense does butch want to run?

This possibility is what will temper my enthusiasm a bit if we hire Butch. Even the "old school" coaches have had to adapt with the times.

If its gets Butch here I'll take it, HCIW don't always become HCs.

Before you corrected it, Can'trackball. That's your opinion, Mario but wear the shoe. It fits.

A lot of what I discussed is stuff me and D$ have talked about.

I do agree with your approach with Butch. I personally want Gran and he has heavy south fla ties but I like Wilson as well. Leavitt would be my #1 for DC.
