Happened to me about 15 years ago in Michigan near Traverse City. Pulled over for speeding and was by myself in a rental car. Cop asked if I wanted to pay the fine on the spot or take the ticket. I handed him $100 cash and was on my way.

That actually happened to me in Iceland. They had me sitting in the cop car while my girlfriend and her daughter sat terrified in our rental car. But I could pay the ticket with a credit card, and I was allowed to go.

I'd pull the "lack of institutional control" card here but the institution at UGA IS in control of that program- they just all don't care (as you said).

Happened to me last weekend. It was actually astonishing how brazen it was. Not to mention dude was lying

Fortunately my passenger was a cop and was like yeah you can’t do this
 
This is why going to a small town is beneficial. Everybody is on the payroll.
