Campanile makes sense because it would be an opportunity for him to be a full time DC & build his resume while staying in Miami.

He was Co-DC at BC on Addazio’s staff but he didn’t call plays, Jim Reid did.

Question to the Phins fans on the board, what did you guys feel about Flores & Josh Boyer’s Defense?
(Pro/Cons)
Flores and Boyer’s defenses were predicated on creating pressure. Typically sending more than you could block. Waaaaay too much cover 0. Which is easy to get exposed when the pressure doesn’t get home in time.

Saban wouldn’t even take him back. That tells you all you need to know.
Alabama coach Nick Saban has reached out to former Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt regarding the Crimson Tide's vacant defensive coordinator position, sources tell CBS Sports. It is believed no offer has been made at this time, and Alabama would not speak on Pruitt's candidacy when contacted for comment.

Sources indicate Pruitt would face long odds to getting hired by the Tide as the subject of an ongoing NCAA investigation. He was fired at Tennessee two years ago as the NCAA levied allegations of 18 Level I violations on the Volunteers. Level I violations are most serious on the NCAA's scale of infractions.

There has been widespread speculation that Pruitt would be involved in Saban's search to replace Pete Golding, who left for the same position at Ole Miss earlier this month. Golding was not expected to be retained by Alabama.

Pruitt's candidacy is questionable as it is unknown whether he would be allowed to accept the job if offered.

SEC Bylaw 19.8.1.2 requires any SEC school that "considers hiring an individual … who has participated in activity that resulted, or may result, in a Level I, Level II, Level III or major infraction" to have its president or chancellor "consult directly with the Commissioner prior to offering employment to the individual."

While that language does not directly disqualify Pruitt, Alabama would need to consult with SEC commissioner Greg Sankey before making the hire.

"We have a specific bylaw that defines there has to be a consultation," Sankey told reporters earlier this month. "It's not an approval process. Our campuses -- despite whatever mythology may exist -- make their own personnel decisions. But we provide, for any hiring decision, here's the background from a compliance standpoint."

So basically just trying to let the stink of Pruitt's investigation wear off until he can jump back into coaching circles?
It's not just the stink, he is still waiting for his punishment from the NCAA which is expected to be a show cause which would mean that he is barred from coaching for a certain amount of time. I am guessing that they are hoping that comes soon and then he could coach the season after it expires.

Yeah, I was going to respond to the QP; various Bama outlets have insinuated that Steele is a stop-gap. Bama is working behind the scenes regarding Pruitt & the NCAA. Heard he might be brought in as an analyst if all goes well, then he’ll be brought in as a DC.
Bama DC-In Waiting

Steele must be suffering from some sort of early onset dementia if he was cognizant of the Pruitt dynamic and still went to Tuscaloosy. Good riddance if so.

Not an overly talented unit. He only worked with the inside LBs. Elandon Roberts had his best year of his career in 2022. Average starters and bad backups. The Dolphins scheme asked the LBs to create chaos when they were going forward. In pass coverage they were practically traffic cones. Spot dropping into areas in hopes of getting the QB to hold the ball a beat so the pressure packages could get home.

That sounds awfully familiar
