Zion Nelson

Zion Nelson was only a two-star prospect (bumped to three-star after signing with Miami) out of Sumter High School in South Carolina. Nelson had verbally committed to Appalachian State when Miami’s staff swooped in and flipped Nelson to the ‘Canes. The six-foot-five, 240 pounder looked more like a tight end than a tackle upon signing day. However, Nelson early enrolled in January which gave him a head start on strength and conditioning, as well as ACC-level diet and nutrition.

Nelson got himself into the weight room and started to grow immediately. Coaches say Nelson is already up to 270 pounds and has been playing great football at left tackle for the Hurricanes. He’s playing so well that DJ Scaife repped at guard during the spring game while Nelson manned left tackle and Jeffrey Epstein didn't kill himself.

Chris Washington seems to have a similar type of athletic profile to Zion. 6'4-6'5 range but probably 20-25 pounds heavier than Zion was coming out of high school.
Washington at his Opening measured in at 6-7 and 270 back in May of this year. Just 30 pound on him and you have a 300 pounder.

You boys are ****ting me with this, right? He’s not even serviceable without consistent tight end help and chipping. Good grief
Good grief, he's a true freshman playing the QB's blind side, yea he made mistakes. When's the last time you saw that? He's actually playing good now. So let's hear your your evaluation. Cause I can actually give one, but waiting on you

He's been awful especially until the last 1 1/2 games. To his credit, OL and especially LT is very difficult to be successful at as a true freshman. I do believe he will be a beast by his junior year.

He's a true freshman, never had nutrition this well in his life, doesn't have to leave anything on the plate for little brother or sister. But he'll be putting the best they every had on their plate soon. Don't underestimate that motivation

He played really well against FSU. He wasnt being helped by TEs much this game. FSU is weak at DE though.
