You know what you did, and no, you don't get to wash your hands of Al Golden. You were presented with years of statistical evidence. You saw it in living color seemingly every week. You preached patience. You looked down your nose at those "spoiled, entitled, irrational, knee-jerk fans" because they had the nerve to draw conclusions after three plus years of results. They had ridiculous expectations like, "consistently beat ACC trash" and "don't get violently sodomized on national TV every week." They thought a school sitting on the most fertile recruiting ground in the country ought to be able to beat UVa more than once every four years. You pointed those malcontents towards the cloud and explained UM was only just now beginning to emerge from it. This was year one for Golden. NOW the rebuild begins. Two and a half days ago you were sticking your chest out about that great loss to FSU. You and your Golden supporting friends joyously touched your ****s together when Herbstreit said it was going to take more time. You didn't see a single game in the forty-seven prior to Saturday that indicated Golden was complete dog****. Nope. You could explain every single one away.
Then Virginia happened.
Suddenly you don't care about patience anymore. Kneejerking is totally fine. Entitled enough to expect a W over a five win UVa team? **** RIGHT! WE'RE THE U! WE DON'T PLAY THAT ***** ****! A one game sample size is now more than enough to know that Golden isn't the right guy for the job. Now you rats want to jump off the sinking ship. Nope. Sit down, shut up, strap in. You're riding the USS 48/30 Khaki Dockers all the way to the bottom.
