For those with X & O knowledge..what are the major differences b/w a bounadry corner and a field corner? Does it differ per defensive scheme? Are there physical qualities one looks at when placing a kid at field or boundary?

The boundary corner plays the short side of the field closer to the sideline. They tend to play a little closer to the line and are usually better at run support.

The field corner plays the wide side of the field....a lot more open space. They tend to be the better pure cover guys with better speed. They have the ability to play off a bit if they are in man coverage since it takes the ball longer to get there, giving them more time to jump the routes.....or can play press man in a cover-2 concept knowing they have help over the top.

I don't know what the main differences are when it come to Canadian style ball in comparison to American, but to my knowledge I'll give it a go.
A field corner generally is more of a speeds and smarts that can be left on island (i.e. the Revis island.)
A boundary corner is more of your physical freak where they prefer to get in a tackle when it comes to running the ball and so forth, so more aggressive and they are generally allowed to hence why they have the FS on this side of the field as well.
Defensive scheme would only change unless to goes a front 6 (i.e.4-2-5 like UNC will be running this year, or 3-3-5)
Physical characteristics hmm not so much you can hope but generally its more of a type of player.
A good example would have been LSU this past season, Tyronne Mathieu was boundary , meanwhile Claibourne was field.
