OP isnt proposing Venables. Instead, what he’s suggesting (I think) is that assuming the Clemson AD is hired here, the level of familiarity might make him a candidate.

I personally think Venables is a better football coach then Mario but Mario is proven and has the experience. You never really know when hiring a HC, countless high end coordinators have struggled as HC and there have been mediocre position coaches turn into quality HCs.
