How do the Florida schools compete for titles.
Traditional strongholds in Miami/SFL, Lakeland, Panhandle areas are now signing with these schools and Ohio state and now LSU.

I don’t see how the Florida schools ever be elite again without playing the same game.
The florida recruit seems more less willing to want to make their own programs great in-state or play at home like most recruits from GA, OH, LA, etc.

Sad to see it happen.

Florida’s got a bag game and when FSUs boosters like the coach they have a bag game.

Their bag games are weak compared to those good ole boys.

FSU losing local commits to Nebraska.

Look at Bowman in Lakeland he went from all Gator last season to never visiting there after Clemson got involved.

Hendo lil bro going there too from Miami.

What UGA, Clemson and Bama are doing is obviously on some other level ****..

Miami is focused mostly on South Florida recruits. I’d be surprised if the top 5 teams in college football signed more than 15 south Florida recruits in the 2020 class.

Update:

Alabama has 3 from the entire state of Florida.
LSU has 3 from the entire state of Florida.
Georgia has 5 from Florida.
Clemson has 3 from Florida.
Oklahoma has 1 from Florida.
Oregon has 1 from Florida.
Ohio State has 1.
Baylor has 0.
Wisconsin has 0.

The top 5 teams plus Alabama, Oregon, Wisconsin, and Baylor have a total of 17 2020 recruits coming from the entire state of Florida currently.

Miami can’t compete with bags but let’s not pretend the bagman from Georgia and Alabama is taking every recruit worth taking. Plenty of top 10 and top 25 teams aren't throwing bags in Florida. Miami could miss on the top 25 south Florida players and still improve their team talent.

Instead of a stupid billboard, we need to take that money and hire a former CIA operative to get some hard evidence of this so-called "Bag Game" here in South Florida. Seems to me that if it's as prevalent as some suggest on this board, shouldn't be too hard to get some evidence.

Don’t need the cia for that. There’s articles all over the place interviewing the bagman, nobody cared. Of course yahoo does an article about some Miami kids getting tapas and it’s time to shut the program down.

How about some deep fakes of Saban and Dabo personally offering money and girls to top recruits?

People on this board have the evidence. Every time i have read someone ask why the dont make it public, they claim something about the kids....

when Jimbo was there FSU immediately and curiously started recruiting top 3 classes every year pulling national recruits.

Bags work 2 ways I don’t think FSU wanted to match whatever bag the Huskers offered. Maybe they didn’t feel like they needed to spend big on Greene when they had two cats they wanted

Maryland's WR coach is Joker Phillips who coached at UF under Muschamp & at Oh St under Urban Meyer.

If you think they didn't pay they kid to stay home you'd be sadly mistaken...

Maryland did the same thing with Anthony McFarland's recruitment, the former HC at Dematha is their RB's coach. MD is absolutely paying recruits. Most teams in college football are.

Miami's problem is we're trying to be like Stanford & Northwestern using education as the selling point for recruits, but Miami isn't on the same level academically as either of those schools so we look stupid while doing it.

We could get in the cash game if we wanted to, we just don't because we always have goody two-shoes Corches that can't recruit to save their lives & our Boosters aren't committed to winning.

The only way to beat the bag schools is with fantastic coaches who can out scheme their opponent...we haven't had that in nearly two decades and it doesn't look like it'll change anytime soon. Miami has some sort of bags like everyone else don't get me wrong, but the kids go to the other schools because higher bags + a tradition of winning in recent history. Kids don't care about the 80's and 90's anymore.

The Big 3 don’t have great coaches anymore.

Clemson, Bama, etc do.

UGA is bag school supreme and Smart can recruit.

Orgeron has shown ability to lead. He just needed the right assistants.

Miami has MANNY.

FSU just canned Taggert.

UF was a mess under McShark****er. Mullen has them playing well, though not elite (which is what Mullen is, very good, not elite).

Florida schools have not been as attractive to top coaches and not identified up and comers well.

The bags for players are an issue, but the coaching bags have been more damaging.

The elite schools break the bank for DEFENSIVE coordinators.

Florida schools are still slow to accept what it really takes to put together a championship staff.

247 lists 17 recruits from Florida in the composite top 100.

Two of those 17 haven't signed with anybody yet.

Of the 15 who have signed, bag schools signed 10 of them, including the top 4 players in the state & 7 of the top 10.

Below is a snapshot of how other states fare keeping their top recruits from leaving the state. This is the number out of the top 10 (in that state) 247 recruits staying in state for college:

Alabama - 9 (last year was 5 out of 10)
Arizona - 0
Arkansas - 3
California - 1
Colorado - 1
Florida - 2
Georgia - 2
Illinois - 2
Louisiana - 3
Maryland - 0
Michigan - 3
Mississippi - 8
Nebraska - 2
Nevada - 0
New York - 0
North Carolina - 5
Ohio - 4
Oklahoma - 3
Pennsylvania - 5
South Carolina - 7
Texas - 5

Talented recruits get recruited nationally and leave home.
